Vincent leaned back on his elbows and listened to Mikka sing. She had a wonderful voice and the song was rather haunting in it's own way. He watched her silently and wondered what was going on in her mind. Of course she was doing chores, but it seemed that she was somewhere else, perhaps thinking of a young warrior that he had caught her with last night? Cael seemed to have a way with her and it didn't surprise him.
The older Warrior smiled and remembered his home across the sea. Vincent could picture a blond little girl running around chasing geese, a young strong boy riding a horse. And a wife watching them with her crafty eyes to make sure no harm comes to them. But then his eyes were clouded over by the war and stood up quickly to forget. He needed to forget!

Mikka was surprised by Vincent's sudden movement and thusly brought out of her trance.
"What's wrong? Did you see something?" She asked worriedly and looking around trying to see what Vincent had seen.

Cael began to hear a voice singing as he neared the stream. The song was beautiful, as was the voice that sang. The voice itself sounded familiar...the owner of which he now lay eyes on. "Mikka," he whispered softly. There next to her, Cael spotted the warrior from last night, Vincent. He seemed entranced by the song too...until he stood up suddenly, breaking Mikka from her song as well. Cael couldn't help but begin to wonder what it was that caused to react the way that he did... OOC: Note, not trying to control anyone's character here. I'm just restating what was said from Cael's point of view. I was going to wait for smile to come back before posting, but, obviously, I changed my mind .

(lol it's ok. I would hate for someone to stop posting merely because I'm no where to be seen lol. But I didn't see anything that's...controling.))
"No Miss Mikka. I merelly..." He then saw Cael not too far off. To change the subject away from his apparently sudden jump, Vincent pointed to Cael. "We have a visitor though." He brushed off some leaves from his pants Vincent dipped his hands into the water again to clear his mind and then stood and looked between the two younger people.

"Oh, Good Morning, Cael" Mikka said rising to her feet. She quickly dried her hands on her apron. "I still have more chores to do..." Mikka gestured to the laundry basket and then tucked some hair behind her ear."I was trying to get as much done as i could before you got up" Mikka was babbling now.

"That's ok," Cael said with a smile. "I was coming down here to get a drink is all." Cael nodded silently to Vincent, acknowledging his presence.

"Oh" Mikka said getting back down to her chores.
*Stop dreaming that he's thinking about you. and Stop thinking about him touching you. Your acting like all those other love sick girls in the village. You're not falling in love, you merely respect him and want his respect back. no love to it. So stop this train of thought* Mikka was thinking all of this and more to herself as she continued to finish up the washing. But it didn't help. She kept hoping he'd stop her from her chores with his hand. And after helping her up he'd say something like, 'Your hands are being wasted on silly chores, we could be doing things that are worthy of these hands. Come with me.' Then he'd lead her away to someplace private. They'd work with a sword before he finally kissed her.
"Oh no" Mikka cried coming to her sense. She had been so absorbed in her own thoughts that her father's tunic had slipped from her fingers and was now heading down stream at an alarming pace. Mikka jumpped up and ran along the bank to try and catch the tunic. Her foot slipped into the water followed by the rest of her, but Mikka was not to be deterd. She continued on in the water racing after the lost tunic. Though a bit slower now being bogged down by the water and her skirt.

Vincent at first thought that Mikka would be able to get the tunic, but once she slipped he jumped and also started to chase after the escaping piece of clothing. He darted ahead of his neighbor's daughter and was able to get closer to the tunic that started to pick up speed. Vincent's aging bones were not even affected by this run for he usually ran this much every day.
A couple minutes later Vincent was perpendicular to the tunic, yet he couldn't reach it. He jumped into the water and his foot caught the clothing, yet it slipped out from under his foot and continued on it's way as he fell into the freezing water that just drenched through his clothes.

Mikka would have laughed if it was any other piece of washing, but it was her father's best tunic and it would not be a pleasent return home if she came back without it. Mikka reached Vincent and helpped him up.

Not one to be left behind, Cael ran as well, down the bank. He had skidded to a halt when he noticed Mikka fall into the stream. After making sure she was ok, by way of seeing her get up and resume her chase, Cael continued on. He later saw Vincent fall in as well. Cael stopped then to look, to see if he was ok as well. As he saw Mikka appear to aid Vincent, he picked up his running again, hoping he didn't fall too far behind.

Mikka knew she had no hope of catching the tunic, she was too far away. But she hoped Cael could. She was about to lose hope, but then she saw it catch on a rock up ahead.

Cael sighed in relief as he saw the tunic up ahead. It appeared to be stuck on a rock. "Good," he said silently to himself as he closed in. Within a few more steps, he had reached the rock. Cael took the tunic then and turned around to face his two companions. He held the tunic out in front of him and waved his free hand to signal that he had retrieved it. Cael then headed back to Mikka and Vincent quickly, tunic in hand.

Mikka ran, well as fast as she could, out of the water and over to Cael. In her relief, Mikka hugged Cael as a way of expressing her thanks.
"Thank you so much" She said as she took the tunic from him. Still just thinking about how thankful she was, Mikka got on her toes and gave Cael a peck on the cheek.

Vincent stood up and smiled as he saw Cael and Mikka hugging. Now that he was completely soaked to the bone Vincent started off towards where they were and cleared his throat. "Ok perhaps we should go back to the rest of the washed clothes so that Mikka can continue with her chores. You wouldn't want to get far behind, huh?"
After that Vincent started off up river towards the basket of clothes.

The hug startled Cael as he wasn't expecting it. Even less expected was the kiss he received afterwards. Cael remained silent for a few seconds as a bit of red started to tinge his cheeks. "You're welcome," he said softly, almost absentmindedly. It was Vincent's voice that brought him back to reality. Upon hearing it, Cael turned his attention to him and nodded once.
