Cael broke the embrace only slightly, just enough to lift Rosemikka's head by her chin, with one hand. He stared into her eyes briefly before smiling. "I know it'll be hard, and it will only get harder from here. But...try not to worry. Despite everything that has happened, be it the past, the present, or whatever the future holds, despite it all. I will still be here, for you, no matter what. I may have my memory back, and there will be responsibilities thrust on us that we have not dealt with before. Be that as it may, I am still very much the same Cael you grew up with, even with these new revelations, new memories."

Mikka couldn't resist as she stared into his eyes. She leaned in and gently pressed her lips to his. Had really been three weeks since she had last kissed these lips? It seemed so wrong that they had waited so long, when it clearly felt so right to be with him. As she pulled back to look in his eyes, Mikka placed her hand lovingly on his cheek. Without any other thought than how much she loved him, Mikka leaned in to kiss him again.

Cael did not fight the first kiss, though he was taken by surprise. It felt right, even if it did feel awkward with Garren just outside. Cael stared into Mikka's eyes as she did his. As before, he didn't resist Mikka.
After a while, Cael broke off. He stood, lifting Mikka up with him. "Feeling better?" he asked soothingly.
OOC: The quality is pretty ugh, but I think I put this off for too long now.

Mikka nodded slowly as if she were in a dream. She sighed and glanced at the door. why should she care what Garren thought?
"I don't care about Garren anymore." Mikka said. "Will you please meet me tonight? Alone?"

Cael was silent for a moment, though it seemed longer. He looked from Mikka to the door, and then back to Mikka again. With a nod, he answers, "Yes. Where?"

Mikka didn't hide the joy on her face at Cael's response.
"The practice yards" she said right away with a smirk.

Cael brushed a strand of hair from Rosemikka's face. "When?" he asked softly. Again and again, the words "this is right" rang in his mind.

"Midnight." Mikka said forgetting all about Lady Conry and Garren. Tonight was about them. In her joy, Mikka kissed Cael one more time before pushing him out the door. Ignoring Garren's confused look as she closed the door made everything a bit sweeter.
Midnight seemed too far away, but she would endure it for another of those lovely kisses.

Garren turned his attention to the prince as soon as Mikka shut the door on both of them.
"you made her cry." a slight accusatory tone in his voice. "what did you do?"

Cael frowned as he heard that voice. "I didn't do anything," he said simply. That was true enough...wasn't it? "Well..." Cael sighed. "It's all of these changes," he said after a while. It's taking its toll on her, I'm afraid." Cael didn't say anything more than that. Why should he? It's not like he owed the man anything, nor do Cael any real wrong. At most, he was betrothed to the girl he loved. Funny enough, that seemed to be all there was to it.

Garren narrowed his eyes suspiciously, but if Cael was making her cry maybe he had chance to turn her attentions. But he couldn't move to quickly. And he had to keep his temper, which was always a challenge with the village girl now promised to him. Deciding it would be best not to push anything, Garren simply said,
"Goodnight, then, Highness."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Mikka looked at the waning moon in the sky to guess the time. In a few hours, Cael and her would be alone without Garren right outside the door. All she could do now was watch the sky as she waited.
Cael was quiet as he made his way back to his quarters. This had been such a long day, for everyone. Now that it was done, Cael wasn't entirely sure how he should feel. Having his memory back was definitely good and all, in theory. After it happened, well...Cael wasn't so sure he really wanted to remember his captivity.
"Damnit, Cameron," Cael muttered to himself, now in his room. For a long moment, the prince found himself wanting to go back to the dungeon and confront his former friend again. A part of him wanted to bring Riona as well. Still, the side wanting to keep her ignorant and safe was stronger. Such a revelation, for all intents and purposes, had messed with his head quite a bit. Maybe Garren was right when he suggested Riona wouldn't be able to handle it.
The hours ticked away as Cael continued to mull things over. As it came closer to his meeting time, the young prince was still no closer to making any kind of decision on the matter. "Oh well," Cael muttered to himself, leaving his quarters. At least he had something to distract himself from such thoughts.
