Mikka grinned. She took the hilt in her hand. It was a bit heavier than she thought, but she was able to lift it. With precise movements, Mikka repeated all of Cael's moves. Every arc, swing and thrust made a song sing in Mikka's blood. It was wonderful and her eyes twinkled as she got to show off what was in her heart.

Cael looked on in honest surprise. He was half thinking to himself that she'd make some mistake in holding the sword or with the swings themselves. Did she really learn all of this by just watching? "I'm impressed," he called out to her, crossing his arms in front of his chest.

(Ok thanks, I usually feel the need to ask because if I don't it's like I'm barging into other people's privateness)
Vincent was up in a nearby tree sleeping with his cape slung over his face so as the sun didn't irritate his sensitive eyes while he slept. 'I'm impressed' Those words broke into his subconciousness and slowly his eyes opened to reveal dark green irises. Quickly Vincent sat up to see who had spoken.
At first he didn't see anyone nearby so he jumped down out of his tree. His black cape flew back behind him as he fell through the sky. Once Vincent met the ground he realized he had where they were. It was a male and a female, both looked younger then his own 36 year old self, and the girl was holding a sword.
Blinking Vincent tried to clear his tired mind, did he just see a girl holding a sword?! Then he saw it was his neighbor's daughter Mikka who held the sword tightly in one hand. Cael was looking at her with his arms crossed and utterly surprised.
Vincent walked over to them silently and once he was directly next to Cael he spoke, his deep voice barely audible, "And what are you two doing out here?"

Mikka dropped the sword and let out a small scream in surprise. Her eyes went wide at Vincent. She was so proud of herself at Cael's reaction. But now someone, an older someone, had found her out and ruined the moment. Mikka looked ready to bolt. Her blue eyes darted around trying to choose which way to run. Cael knowing was one thing but Vincent knowing, he would surely tell her father what he saw.
And that thought kept her rooted to her spot. She would have to convince Vincent not to say anything if she wanted to keep practicing.

Vincent merely stood there waiting for an answer. Of course it was obvious that they were up to something, and he didn't want his neighbor's young daughter to be mixed up with another warrior. Casting his eyes between the two teenagers he could tell that Mikka was very nervous and it was no wonder.
Finally with a sigh he asked, "Are you teaching her how to fight or did she merely rush you for your sword Cael?"

Cael lowered his head as the elder spoke, a show of respect to his better. After the question was asked, Cael lifted his head again slowly, to look into his eyes. He spoke softly, "Neither, sir."

"Ah, I see. Then how did this young lady come to be holding your sword?" Technically as of now the sword was at her feet, but Vincent assumed they knew what he was talking about. Now standing there Vincent looked down at Cael, not because he was looking down at him as a lesser Warrior but because the teenager was shorter then him. Vincent wasn't one to really say he was better then others although that was usually the case merely because he has had more experience.

As nervous as Mikka was, she couldn't let Vincent blame Cael.
"Sir, None of this was Cael's fault. I was just trying out Cael's sword. Please, don't tell anyone, it was a silly girl's fancy and I would hate for anyone to know how bad I was. Especially my Da." Mikka said. She went to pick up Cael's sword, pretending it was hard for her to handle the weapon, and handed it back to Cael. "Thank you, Cael, for indulging my foolishness."

Cael remained silent. He took the sword back and nodded at the girl. Slowly, he turned his attention back to Vincent. Just as slowly, he lowered his head again.

(AWE! Vincent's being so mean *glares at Vincent*)
Vincent nodded and put a hand on Cael's shoulder. "Well then it was very generous of you to allow Miss. Mikka to ammuse herself." Then the slightly older man turned around to walk away then paused. "I won't be telling your father of this little meeting, and if I were you I'd try and practice in a more private place Miss Mikka, you never know who will walk up on you." A small smile was on his face as he went towards the water to find a way to amuse himself.

Color filled Mikka's cheeks at Vincent's words and she played with the end of her golden braid. She bit her lip and couldn't look at Cael.
Maybe I should just go home before someone else does catch us and thinks that we're doing something worse than practicing with a sword. At that thought, Mikka's cheeks coloreed with a deeper blush.

"Thank you, Vincent," Cael said softly, head still lowered. He really was grateful. While Mikka would possibly get the worst of it, Cael himself would be punished as well. Exactly how harsh of a punishment, he did not know. All Cael did know is that he didn't want to find out, nor did he want Mikka to get into trouble either.

Coming to the ocean side Vincent looked out over the ocean. His old Village was on the other side of the Ocean and he missed it dearly. No, not the actual village, but who once lived there with him. He had a wife there once, but a war was brewing and he was needed to fight. Well the years passed and he's yet to come back although the war never came.
Shaking his head Vincent cleared his mind and took out his own sword, a long skinny one that was easy to carry and even easier to swing. Once in his past he had used a sword much like Cael's, but it broke once while fighting and he stole the sword of the one he had killed using the old sword.
Stabbing his sword into the ground Vincent turned back to Mikka and Cael, his facial features much more playfull then they had been when he was figuring out what it was they were doing.

"I'm sorry, Cael. I didn't mean to get you in trouble." Mikka said softly so that her voice only carried to Cael. "I suppose I should go home, before someone else finds me." She turned to go.

Cael looked to Mikka and smiled. "That's ok. I'm not in too much trouble, same as you. Vincent said he'd keep this quiet." The smile on Cael's face got a little wider. "Who knows...maybe some day soon, you can finish what you were showing me."
