"Hmm." T'Vara continued to study him as she thought about what he had said: "Your last medical was clear; nothing out of the ordinary." she said, more to herself than to him, raising a hand to her chin in thought: "I would venture that this is not a sickness." she said; ordinarily, she'd feel she had to press more with this, however, the last medicals were not so long ago, and there had not been any opportunity which sprung to mind since where he could have contracted something, and this crew had been good enough to her in her time here that she was willing to give them some leeway in thanks, so long as it would not put anyone, or the mission, at risk.
"Seeing as you are medically sound as far as I am aware, there must be something else. However, so long as you are satisfied that this problem will not affect your duties, I am willing to prescribe you a sleeping draught. I will have to make one safety blood test first, which I can perform once we reach the medical bay. Nothing big, just a drop will do, to make absolutely certain that you have not contracted some mystery ailment." she said: "It goes without saying of course that you should return to me if this condition worsens."

He bit the inside of his cheek to stop himself from rolling his eyes. Sometimes he wished he could just go to one of the nurses and grab the meds from them. "Yeah of course. By all means and trust me, it won't affect my duties."
He followed her into medical and nodded to the guards he'd posted by the Romulan's beds that were being checked out. They nodded back, a quick and simple gesture of 'everything's fine' before he followed T'Vara further into the room, already rolling up one sleeve in preparation.

T'Vara nodded to her medical crew as they entered the Med Bay: "Stand by." she told them, leading Kyle to one of the beds, gesturing for him to sit whilst she slipped on a pair of gloves and gathered the equipment.
"I only need your hand." she lifted his hand and pricked the tip of his right thumb with a needle, then placed the needle into a handheld scanner and waited for a few moments, and the machine bleeped, showing a green light on the screen: "Definitely clear." she told him, disposing of the needle and gloves, and placing the scanner back in the recharger.
She headed over to one of the storage cabinets, and held her hand up to the palm-reader, and the unit opened. She took out a white bottle, with some liquid visible within and handed it to Summers: "Use the cap to measure the dose. Half a cap before you sleep. I advise you are in bed and ready to sleep before taking it, it comes into action within two minutes. It will give you restful sleep, for up to 12 hours, unless responding to an outside stimulus, so you can set your alarm. Don't take more than half a cap or you will sleep for the entire day and we'd have to violently rouse you." she explained: "Now this should work, but if it doesn't, come back to me, and I'll see what I can do. And of course, if there is anything else in future, please do not hesitate to come to me."
She looked to the prisoners: "Shall we move them now?" she asked.

"Thanks Doc," he put the bottle in his pocket, rolled his sleeve back down and turned to the prisoners. "Let's." He spoke into his communicator, asking for several other security personnel before they started to move the Romulans to the brig. The last thing he wanted was for them to lose more members before they'd left Federation space.
It took a lot of hassling and goading but eventually he and his men had managed to guide the Romulans to their correct destinations. He took personal guard over the Commander whilst he waited for the Captain.

Captain Barnes had been pacing his quarters. What's the point in being captain if you can't even make decisions about your own crew? Especially at a time like this...
"You got those damn prisoners moved yet? I feel like shouting at somebody." Barnes spoke into his communicator.

Kyle sighed and spoke into his communicator, "Yes Captain, the commander's waiting for you."

"Of course." T'Vara nodded to Summers, then aided Summers with the transfer, ensuring that there were no complications with the prisoners during the transfer from medical bay to the brig "I'll leave one of my staff with your guards to monitor the prisoners." she said to Kyle.
She opened her communicator at the Captain's voice: "We're finished Captain. Do you wish me to be present for the interrogation in case things get, heated would probably be the best word, or shall I return to the medical bay?"

"You can get back to medical bay doc, I know the rules." With that, Barnes made his way to the brig. When he approached the door he stopped to take a breath and straighten his uniform before standing close enough for the sensors to detect him and slide open the doors.
He entered and stood in front of the holding bay that held the Romulan Commander. The Romulan faced away from them. "I'm Captain Ryan Barnes, and this is the USS Oblivion. Are you going to make this easy and tell me your name?"
"Commander Mafek or the starship Dakor." He remained facing the wall.
"Tell me, Mafek, where is the rest of your ship?" Barnes questioned, but he got no response. "Ok simpler question, why are you in Federation space?" Still no response. "Lower the forcefield." Barnes commanded, without taking his eyes off Mafek.

Kyle nodded his head and held his hand to the controls and pressed the appropriate buttons. The forcefield disappeared and he watched as the Captain moved into the tiny room. He let one hand settle above his phasor just in case.

"Yes sir." T'Vara replied, instructing one of her staff to remain in the brig with the other Romulan crew in the main brig to ensure that there were no changes in their health then, with a salute to the Captain and Summers, she headed back into the lift to the medical bay to monitor the unconscious Romulans, specifically the radiation affected prisoner.

Barnes grabbed the Commander by the shoulders and swung with his right fist, punching the Romulan in the face.
Mafek straightened himself up and stared at the Captain.
"It's rude to ignore people." Barnes stated as he brushed off his fist. "Now then," he spoke, beginning to pace, "let's try again. Why are you in Federation space?!"
Mafek began to laugh. Barnes stopped and turned to stare at him. "Something funny?" he questioned.
"You Federation, you think you're so mighty." His laughing stopped as he adopted a more serious tone; "Why would I willingly come here? You think that me and some petty crewmen are declaring war?" He stood now, taller than Barnes with a menacing look on his face. "This universe is bigger than you and I, Captain. This was the only direction we could journey to avoid death. If I'd have known what scum would be waiting for us I would have picked death!" He shouted in Barnes' face.
Barnes reached for his phaser and Mafek stepped down, smirking. "Shoot me, if it makes you feel better, I would prefer it to being stuck on a Federation base. Nothing changes, you ignorant fool." He sat back down.
Barnes stepped out of the holding bay and nodded to the men to put the forcefield back up.
"Sir, incoming message from the Ambassador" his communicator spoke with Kearney's voice. He flipped open his communicator, "I'll take it in my quarters." He stated. "Let me know if they say anything interesting" he ordered before leaving.
He walked again to his quarters with a quickened pace, annoyed at the Romulan's cocky nature. Today was supposed to be a nice, relaxing day...

Kyle put the forcefield back up and nodded. He knew that if the Commander said or did anything he would want to make sure he was in the room. He pushed back a yawn and stood by the controls, eyes fixed on the Commander.

Barnes stomped into his quarters, not in the mood to speak to the ambassador. He sat down and turned on his monitor.
"Captain! I trust you're ready for the transfer?" The Ambassador spoke with a smile. "Of course, ambassador. On our way to you now." Barnes smiled back. "Barnes, stop messing around taking a longer route." The ambassador adopted a more serious tone; "Let's just get this over with, okay?" Barnes forced himself to smile again, "Of course sir, over and out."
He ran his hands through his hair for a moment before standing and making his way to the bridge. As he entered, Kearney announced, "Captain on the bridge." Barnes nodded to his first officer to return to his normal post and he sat on his chair in the centre of the bridge.
"We can take a more direct route now to the star base, we've gotten all we can out of the Romulans."

As Barnes had entered, Faulkner had stood and saluted, then moved back to his usual post to the Captain's right, taking up his own seat and bringing up the navigational charts on his screen: "Aye sir." he replied, plotting a new course which would take them back to base more directly: "ETA twenty seven and a half minutes Captain."
He sent Dawson the revised route: "Full ahead, miss Dawson."

"Aye, Aye," Jessica said and she inputted thew new course into the systems. Five seconds later and they were heading to base.
