After a night of reviewing the previous day's hunt, making sure everything was ready for the next one, checking in with contacts for any more information on the Vampires, along with a quick check around if anyone had ever worked with Tracy before now; answers were pretty much as expected: she'd said she didn't often work with others, and that had been pretty much the results of his questions; no-one he knew had, he'd managed to grab some sleep, then headed off in the morning to the Hotel as planned.
He was in the process of unpacking his bags in his room when he heard the knocking on the door. Heading over, and looking through the spy-hole in the door, he saw it was Tracy in the hall outside, and opened the door: "Morning..." he said to her, heading back inside and sliding the bag under the bed, motioning for her to come in: "Lock the door behind you would you? We've got a lot to discuss with this one..."

Hannah nodded and locked the door behind her. She thought over the room they were in; not overly done up and not too disgusting that rats would feel at home. The thought of some of the places she'd stayed in made her frown. With any guesswork, she knew that Mike would've had her checked out, asked around and whatnot. That thought made her smirk. Tracy Harford. From a family of Hunters and hell, that wasn't even her real name.
"Okay, let's go over this. Nest of Vampires terrorising and killing the local people and we're gonna try to get rid of them."

"Essentially, yes..." Mike replied, leaning back against a wall facing her: "First off, feel free to sit down..." there were several extra chairs in the room: "Then back to business; these ones have, racked up a high body count already; more than usual for Vampires in such a short space of time. They've been here at least three months, and in that time they've killed 17 people; four in the first month, five in the second, and eight this month, including five in the last week. Usually they'd turn at least some of them, and Vampires I've encountered before didn't always kill; there were always a few traumatised but living victims left to talk to, this time however, nothing..." he explained: "The Police are calling it the work of a serial killer, not too many details released to the press, but from my information, including the last call from Kevin Heaton, the Hunter they killed, that's how we know there are five of them; as for the nest, I've got a few potential places that it could be..." he said, producing a map of the City, which he had already marked with the locations of the attacks, which were in a rough radius of about five miles: "Within the area of the attacks, there are two old industrial estates, two broken down warehouses, and an abandoned mill. My guess would be that the nest is in one of those; they're all quiet, no trouble from the public, and if the occasional teenage group wanders into one for a party, the Vampires would have their prey walking to them. It's just a matter of narrowing it down from the five possible locations we have..."

Hannah refused to sit down. She felt more comfortable standing, ready in case of an emergency exit. She still didn't know who this Mike character was and refused to fully trust him one hundred percent. Stepping towards the man, she peered at the map with careful scrutiny. She had to admit, the guy wasn't half bad.
Looking over the locations she did a mental pros and cons list for why a nest of Vampires would choose one place and not the other. A mill provided ample privacy, was isolated enough that nobody would hear victims scream. But if what he said was true, that the vampires were getting bolder, then they wouldn't be too far away either.
She crossed the mill off and one of the warehouses; too far away to satisfy a vampire completely, and this reasoning also crossed another warehouse off. That left two industrial estates. Both provided isolation and both were easy to get into.
She looked up at Mike, pointing to the two spots. "My guess would be one of these two spots. Easily looked over, not much interest would be taken, isolated, out of the way. Perfect."

Jimmy finished talking with the nurse. It had been a very uncomfortable conversation in which every detail he had to say had been made up on the spot. He made up the excuse that they couldn't find his records that he had been an orphan as a kid and he had given the name of someone he had saved that would have been roughly the right age. Now all he had to do was get out of there before they caught on that he was actually lying.
"And in other news there has been yet another killing." Jimmy turned his head to the TV that had just been turned up in the corridor outside his room.
"In the last three months there have been an unusually high amount of murders in Leeds area. Including five this week alone. The police have named the suspect they want in connection with the string of murders." The TV showed what looked like the most ordinary looking man Jimmy had ever seen.
"The police believe John Smith is the culprit responsible for the killings and anyone who has any information regarding his whereabouts please contact the police immediately." The whole thing looked stupid. The actual guy doing the killings must surely be laughing his head off at how ridiculous that was. Still ever for a serial killer those kinds of numbers seemed strangely high.
"Ah well." He said, the most important thing now was to get out of the place and find a new job. Or at least one that didn't involve cliffs.

Mike listened to her as she started to talk about the possible locations, and her thoughts on them. He'd already given the matter some thought over the past few days in making his preparations for this job, so he ran his own opinions in his mind as she spoke, comparing and contrasting, though they both seemed to have similar ideas on the matter: his money would have been on the industrial estates also; more room, less chance of being found, and more central than the other locations. The question remained, however, which one.
"I agree with you there..." he replied, taking out a notebook: "I've got some details on the estates as well; they're both from about the same time period, and both have been abandoned for roughly the same amount of time, give or take a couple of years, though the information I have on them doesn't suggest any immediate features that would make one better than the other..." he explained: "We'll have to see what we can dig up on them, but first I suggest, given that this is more activity than we'd usually see in Vampires, that we check the bodies of the Victims; the latest five are still in a hospital morgue not too far from here, I suggest that we head over there now and see if there's anything we can learn from them..." he suggested, looking to her: "I've got police identification to get in; I'm guessing you've got a police or medical alias you can use?" most Hunters had several pre-prepared aliases and forms of false identification to aid them in their work.

Hannah smirked at him. "Oh yeah, I got a way." She turned back to look at the map and held her hand out for the notes that he had on the two places in question. "May I?"

"Of course..." he said, handing her the notepad with the information he'd been able to get on the industrial estates; the information he'd managed to gather on all five possible locations was there also, but it had turned out that they probably wouldn't need it for this one.
He then headed over to the wardrobe, taking out a suit jacket and a tie; he'd expected to be heading over to the Hospital in disguise, so he was already wearing the shirt and pants needed. He put the tie and jacket on whilst he waited for Tracy to read over the notes. He also added a heavy black overcoat, and glanced in the mirror; he looked the part he intended to.
Checking the false I.D, and making sure he had everything he'd usually carry on a job, he turned back to Tracy: "So, thoughts?" he asked: "And I'm ready to head over to the hospital whenever you are..." he stood back against the far wall, leaning against it slightly whilst he waited for her answer.

Hannah laughed and looked down at her worn jeans, ragged boots and loose t-shirt with a slogan written across it. "You really think I'm ready?" She passed the notebook back and nodded to him. "That's some good work there, my best bet would be to just keep an eye out on the local people and stake both places out. Together. No sense in staking out a Vamp's nest alone."
She looked closer at Mike's uniform and shrugged her shoulders. "It'll take me ten minutes to get changed. After I get back to my motel of course."

He laughed at that; true she wasn't going to be passing as anything other than a civilian dressed like that: "A fair point..." he grinned, grabbing the room key from the bedside table then packing the map and notes away into the bag under the bed: "Thank you, I do my best..." he replied to the little compliment: "That sounds like a good idea; after the hospital, we should take a brief look in the daylight at each of them then return in the evening; if we get there in good time, we should be able to catch them leaving for the night..." he continued, heading towards the door.
"And of course, no problem. I'll wait for you outside your motel, or I can meet you outside the Hospital, your call..." he said, opening the door and waiting for her.

Hannah nodded. It sounded decent. She pulled the door open and nodded at him. "Feel free to wait outside the motel. Just follow behind me." With that she ignored anything else he said and made her way down the stairs and out the front door. Lifting a hand to her car, letting him know which one it was, she promptly got in herself and started the ignition. It was a five minute car journey to the motel she was staying at.
Once inside, she rummaged through her bag for the 'Police' uniform she had; a charcoal grey set of suit pants with light blue blouse, matching grey suit top and a pair of black boots. With heels. She sighed at the thought of wearing heels, but they were the only pair of 'official' shoes she wore.
She rummaged through the small box of fake ID's she kept and pulled out a police badge. When she stepped outside again, she locked the door and stopped just two feet away from Mike. "Your car or mine?"

After locking up behind himself, he followed Tracy to her motel, waiting outside until she was ready; he lead them back outside when she appeared again, now in her own disguise; looking at her new uniform, she too, looked the part well: "We'll take my car for this one..." he replied, sliding into the driver's seat and opening the passenger door for her.
__________
A quick journey from the motel to the Hospital followed, and after a quick show of identification at the front desk, they were directed to where the Doctor who had overseen the bodies' arrival currently was.
He was speaking to a young man, in one of the upper wards, standing over the bed, the tail end of his conversation could just be heard: "Just make sure to take two of these every day for the next couple of weeks; you never know what was in that river they fished you out of..." he handed the man a small box of pills, then turned as Mike cleared his throat from the doorway:
"Dr Warren? Inspector Rodney, Scotland Yard, this is my partner..." he showed him his I.D, and indicated Tracy and left it open for her to introduce herself and show her badge before continuing: "Could we have a word please?"
"Of course..." Dr Warren replied, heading over and joining them in the corridor: "This is about those bodies they brought in from the murders isn't it? Glad to see they brought you in on this; maybe you'll get the guy finally. Local police hasn't had much luck, I'm afraid..."

Jimmy took the pills from the doctor and stared at the officials as they walked away. At first he thought that they had come here for him. But he was lucky. He sighed. He wished he could have been a policemen dwelling or normal everyday problems like murderers. At least those monsters could be fought off with a single shot...

"Rebecca Hadfield," Hannah interjected with as she listened to the conversation.
"Can I ask," she said when the Doctor began talking about the bodies, "What state were they found in? How badly damaged were the bodies themselves and how are you certain that it's the same person doing this?" She wanted to double check that it wasn't some goose chase they were on and that the facts did equal vampires.

"Well, this is one of those; 'Seeing is believing' cases really..." Dr Warren replied: "But there was a lot of damage; they look like they were all savagely beaten before they died, so they're pretty badly damaged..." he explained: "Cause of death in the five we have here, like the ones over the last few months was exsanguination..." he paused, looking a little uncomfortable: "Total exsanguination; there was barely a drop of blood left in any of them; the bodies cam in white as can be, battered, bruised, and, well it's really quite strange; aside from the total lack of blood, there were...Well I'm not sure quite how to put this, but..." he paused again, again looking a little outside of his comfort zone.
"Go on Doctor; you'd be surprised at some of the things we've heard down at the Yard..." Mike prompted him.
"Yes, but I doubt you've seen this, or at least, not this variation..." Dr Warren replied: "Every subject, from the first victim a few months back, to the latest this week, has had what appeared to be bite marks around the neck, wrists; all the major arteries and veins were lacerated. The strange thing is that what we can only assume are teeth marks are sharp, jagged, like something bit with a mouthful of incisors; I know that sounds ridiculous, but those are the marks we found..." he shook his head again: "The level of damage has grown with each victim, but those 'teeth' marks remain consistent with each one; it seems your killer is becoming more violent with each murder; its the markings each time and the uniform cause of death that suggests the same perpetrator each time..." he told them: "As for the bodies themselves, they're down in the morgue now; I suggest I show them now so you can see what I mean about the 'teeth' marks we found..." he began to head towards the lifts, waiting for them to follow.
That seemed to confirm Vampires to Mike, though what had caused them to become so violent he was still unsure of, and that they had take all the blood from the victims was also a disturbing step up; usually, they'd incapacitate a victim, feed and then either turn them or leave them to either bleed out or be found by others. Never before had he heard of them totally draining someone.
