Hannah frowned. She did not like this at all. This was vampires gone wild. Something was causing them to run amock like this, to go all out crazy and kill as they please, something that wasn't normal.
Mentally, she made a list of what would cause their behaviour. At the top of that list was the Apocolypse. Every creature had seemed to gone crazy since it started. News had been the Winchester brothers across the pond had started it.
She hoped that they didn't cross paths. Ever.
Back to vampires, the second thing on her list was nothing. There wasn't a reason for this behaviour. Ever.
She sighed. This was going to be painful. Especially with the amount of blood, every drop, that the vampires were taking. She had no idea what someone would need with so much blood. Unless demons were involved. Hell they'd popped up so much lately they were a pain in the arse.
But since when did demons and vampires team up? She pushed that thought from her mind and carried on listening to the doctor, following him every step to the morgue.

As they arrived at the morgue by lift, as it was located in the basement level of the Hospital, Dr Warren lead them into a large room, unlocking the door with a keycard to let them in. The walls in this room were lined with chambers cooled to keep the bodies from decomposing. There were also several large operating tables for autopsies. He walked over to one of the walls, and slid open five of the cubic units, one by one, revealing five bodies below white sheets: "I'll get you a copy of the autopsy notes..." he said, heading to a filing cabinet in the corner, unlocking it, and taking out a file before re-locking it: "This is just a copy, so feel free to take it for your investigation..." he said, placing the file on one of the tables: "Once you've finished your examination, please ensure that the cold-storage units are sealed again. The Mortuary doors lock automatically once you leave for the lift, so you don't need to worry about keys..." he explained: "I have to get back to my patients; if there's anything else, there's an internal phone on the desk..." he indicated the phone as he spoke: "Otherwise, please ask at reception on your way out if there are any other requirements. Also, this is my personal number, in case you need to reach me later in your investigation; I've overseen all the autopsies so far..." he handed them a small card with the number on it: "Good luck, Inspectors; I hope you catch the perpetrator quickly..." he shook their hands, then turned and headed back towards the lift. It could be heard heading up again a few moments later.
Mike waited until he heard the lift then respectfully turned back the topmost part of the sheet over one of the victims; as the Doctor had said, there were heavy injuries, but the teeth-marks were all to obvious on the damaged, but otherwise terribly pale flesh around the neck: "This is extreme, even for Vampires..." he commented to Tracy in a low voice; even if they were alone, he'd learnt not to take chances: "Thoughts on why the hell they've suddenly gone from subtle to hunters to crazed killing machines?" he asked, looking at the other bodies in the same way; each one had similar injuries, but they seemed to be getting more and more brutal with each victim. At the rate they were going, they were unlikely to recover any more whole bodies if the Vampires went on like this.

He had only heard a few things. That they were drained of blood and had teeth marks. So Jimmy knew what he had to do. He had snuck out of his room and climbed aboard a hospital trolly thing and hid under the blanket. It had taken a few minutes for someone to come and move him but he was now on his way to the morgue.

Hannah shrugged as she looked over the bodies. "Hell if I know. The Apocolypse has sent every damn monster crazy. One thing I'd like to know," she said, pointing a finger at Mike. "Is what the hell they're using the blood for."
She went back to observing the bodies, looking at the teeth marks and the bite marks. She sighed. What the hell made vampires go this crazy.
"What's it say in the autopsy reports?"

"There is that..." he replied, taking another look over the bodies and their injuries, running through possible ideas in his mind as he did so: "And yes, I was wondering that; seems a bit excessive for five vampire to drain every victim entirely..." he replied: "One thing's for certain; it can't be good whatever the reason for the sudden change..." he headed over to the file on the desk and began to read through it: "Apart from the victims' details, identified from dental records, and the things Dr Warren already went through with us, all victims were found dead, estimated between thirty minutes and one hour after they died, in back alleys or secluded locations, though they weren't hidden at the locations. Every time the cause of death was determined as total exsanguination, with footnote: 'Blood likely removed using some sort of pump'..." he read, then paused, frowning: "'Removed with some sort of pump?' that sounds like they sucked every last drop out of each person; that I could imagine possible with five of them, but that should fill them up for at least a week, but with five in this week alone, and the ones before that, surely even an Apocalypse-Screwed up Vampire couldn't drink that much blood in such a short space of time? That's 10 pints each this week; the most I've ever heard a Vampire take was 3, and that was because it hadn't eaten for a month beforehand; so if they are drinking it, as the report suggests, it would explain the number of victims due to them needing to feed so often, but doesn't give us any idea as to why they need so much, or how they can possibly take in that much..."

He waited as he heard the lift tone and then it reached the right floor. The person wheeled him out and the cart stopped and he heard voices.
"Hey." He heard a male voice say.
"Just dropping off another cold one." He finished and then left the morgue. Well Jimmy was finally in there. He now just needed whoever was there to leave so that he could get a quick look at the bodies. He just hoped it wasn't a doctor so they didn't feel the need to look at him. Or dissect hm. He wore a panicked expression when he thought of this.

Hannah nodded. "It is wierd. I would suggest saving it for something else. For a later date? But why they would need so much I haven't got a clue. And 3? Seriously? I've heard a vampire take 6 at any one time. That was because he'd been buried in his own coffin for one month."
She quietened down at the sound of the lift and looked over towards the orderly who entered; "Just dropping ooff another cold one." She nodded to the man and looked at the covered body.
"What happened?" she nodded to the body. Creating idle chit chat with orderly's was a great way to seem 'real'.

The man stopped just before he left, he turned around to talk to the pair of officers.
"No idea, I just brang him down here." He then left this time.
'Oh shit' Jimmy thought. They were bound to check on him.

"I suppose it depends on the individual Vampire, but still, this is excessive..." Mike had replied: "No doubt their reasons for needing so much will become apparent..." he had said, before he too had become quiet at the sound of the lift approaching. He'd turned and looked to the orderly as Tracy had spoken to him, then looked to her as the man had left: "Not another victim, or they'd have told us..." he commented to her: "With that file, I think we've learnt all we can..."

Hannah shrugged and started towards the lift. She paused by the body and took a moment to observe it. She wanted to make sure that they didn't have more on their hands then simply vampires and picked up the medical file. Flicking through it she frowned. "Huh. There's no time of death."
With a frown, she stared at the blanket for a few moments, waiting.
There it was.
Whoever was under there was breathing. Frowning still, she put the file back and looked up at Mike, finger to her lips. After a moment, she leaned forward, hand gently pinching the blanket before she pulled it away.
Underneath was a man. "Who the hell are you?"

Mike nodded as she raised her hand to her lip, standing ready over the 'body' as she reached for the sheets, looking at the man underneath as she pulled the cover off him: "And what the hell are you doing posing as a corpse?" he added, narrowing his eyes at the now-revealed man: "Don't do anything stupid either; just answer the questions..." he didn't expect he'd try anything, since they were both dressed as Police Inspectors, but it never hurt to be prepared and ready.

Jimmy was blinded by how bright the lights were.
"Okay okay I'll answer your questions." He said.
"Just let my eyes adjust." He sat up slowly so that the two people didn't attack him.
"My names Jimmy... would you believe me if I said i'm here to investigate... the... murders...?" His eyes finally focused and he realised they were police officers.
"Oh shit..."

Hannah looked at the man with a raised brow. She looked at Mike with curiosity and back to the man.
"Right. And your job is what? Exactly?"

"I hunt... erm... bad guys...?" Jimmy couldn't believe he had actually nearly said he was a hunter. He'd get put in a mental home if he said that out loud.

Mike almost felt sorry for Jimmy; he clearly hadn't had a plan in mind in case he had been discovered, he briefly looked to Tracy as she glanced at him: "Bad guys?" he asked, looking back to Jimmy with a raised eyebrow: "Okay then Batman, who are you hunting this time?" he asked with a resigned tone; probably a patient with issues, but something about the way Jimmy actually seemed to believe what he was telling them made him want to enquire further.
Though surely he couldn't be much more than a strange patient, could he? He guessed they were going to find out exactly who he was one way or another; they at least lied convincingly, so Jimmy still assumed he was addressing the Police; something that he and Tracy could use to their advantage in questioning the strange man.
