Jimmy moved up the stairs double checking to make sure nothing else was lurking about. He reached the top and noted that this house had so many rooms. He then proceeded to search them. The first one was a bathroom. It was an amazing bathroom. Everything was just so shiny...
"No don't get distracted." He then searched two more finding nothing to shoot and so entered the next room. He opened it to the sight of a blood covered room which contained the body's of the kids parents. Jimmy was almost sick. It was a horrid thing to see. He left and rapidly searched the rest of the rooms till he found the boy. He picked him up.
"I'm gunna get you out of here." He said moving back to the stairs, just then he saw flashing lights outside and as the front door was kicked open he dropped the kid and ran to the back of the house. He only had one option. He pulled a metal pole from the bed and smashed the window before jumping through it...

He looked up as she entered and sat down, he nodded in greeting and took a swig of his own drink as well: "No problem..." he replied with a small smile: "So..." he said, taking another drink and looking over to her: "Not wishing to pry, but how did you find this job?" he asked her, hoping to find out how they'd both ended up on the same job; for something as commonplace as a small Ghoul pack, it was very rare that you ended up finding another Hunter around and working the same job as you were. He made sure to ask in a casual tone, so that she knew that he was simply asking from curiosity, not trying to start an argument.

Hannah leaned back in her seat, one hand in her lap the other on the glass. She shrugged her shoulders. "Just happened across it, ya'know, followed the signs like most Hunter's do." She took a sip from her glass, always peering at him over the rim of her glass. "Yourself?"

"Pretty much the same thing really..." he replied: "I was in the area anyway; I have a contact here who supplies me with some of the things the job requires, as well as the occasional job if they've heard anything..." he explained: "I saw the news reports a couple of days ago; the corpse-snatching, followed by three attacks on passers-by in secluded spaces. That M.O pretty much fits Ghouls to a tee; and attacks on the living, meant they were particularly bold Ghouls, and as we both know, they need to be taken down quickly once they start going after Human victims..." he took another gulp of his beer.
"I was surprised to see another Hunter on a job like this..." he commented: "Not that that's a bad thing, just a rare one..." he said, leaning back a little himself: "Have you been doing this long?" he asked her; he'd understand if she didn't want to answer that, sometimes it was personal, though he was just trying to extend the conversation, it not being something you got an awful lot of as a Hunter.

Hannah fixed Mike with a blank stare. On the inside, she glared. Her first hunt wasn't long after a vampire killed her mother, who was a Hunter herself. The killing was in revenge for the death of three of their friends. She had been lucky to escape that hunt alive.
She was seven at the time and once she learnt about one thing that went bump in the night, she learnt about a lot of other things that went bump in the night. Her Dad, a Hunter too, took up old habits and returned to the world of Hunting. He took her on a job to take down a ghost. Well, she was told to stand outside of the room the ghost was attached to and to not enter at any cost.
Hannah gulped down several cold drinks, easing the dryness in her throat. Her Dad had died a couple of years back and she knew it was a miracle they even had her. Hell, she wasn't even planned for. "A while. You?"

"Me? I had the dubious privilege of being raised into the life..." he said, finishing his beer and setting the glass down: "So, ever since I can remember, would be my answer..." he told her. That should cover everything really without going into details. After being raised into the life, he'd ended up taking on the family business, so to speak, when he was 18; taking to Hunting solo after his father was injured during one hunt by a Werewolf, losing a leg to the creature before they killed it. In order to ensure that his family could safely retire from the life, he had made sure that they couldn't be traced to him by changing his name to Mike Enfield and leaving them safely in a new location. If and when he could, he still carefully managed to visit from time to time, and that was hellishly lucky for a Hunter from a family of Hunters, so he wanted to keep it that way, at least his family could live some semblance of normality.
"Now then..." he said, leaning forwards again: "I know you only said one drink, but I do feel obliged to at least offer you another; you did after all catch the bugger who almost got away..." he said: "And there is something else I would like to ask you, but I'm going to get another drink first, so another?" he asked.

Jimmy landed extremely heavily in a pile of glass. He had managed to cover his face but he was cut pretty much everywhere else.
"Oh god." He said as he once again pulled himself up. He made a half attempt at jogging off before the police caught up. He stumbled along through the back garden and just about managed to hop the fence not looking over the other side. He was already falling when he realised the drop led straight into the river.
"Ssssshhhhiiiiiiitttttt." He yelled as he fell.

On any other occassion, she'd turn down the drink and walk away. But he wanted to ask her something and one more free drink was fine by her. "Okay. One more. I hear what you say and there's still a chance I walk away."

"Fair enough; that's all I ask..." he replied, grateful that she was at least willing to hear him out. He stood up and returned a few moments later with the drinks, placing one in front of her and sitting back down opposite her. He took a long gulp of the beer before speaking again: "I am fully aware of what you said about not working with others back there, but please, bear with me..." he began, leaning forwards and lowering his voice so that only she could hear him; though there were few others here and they were spread out away from him and Hannah, he wasn't taking any chances.
"I wouldn't normally ask, but under the circumstances, running into you here was a lucky break..." he continued: "I have a job lined up after this; I'd come here to pick up some extras on to prepare for it. This is a job that I'd never take without at least one other person..." he told her: "Since you're clearly experienced, and professional, I had hoped you might help me out with this one. The only other person I know of who could help me is on a job themselves, and isn't available for another two weeks..." he paused, taking another quick drink: "There's a nest of Vampires up in Leeds; at least five of the bastards, and they've been attacking the populace at an increased rate; five in the last week, and several others in the last few months; they're not turning anyone, simply killing them, and they're increasing pace. From what I know, they've already killed one other Hunter, who went in alone..." he quickly glanced around, making sure no-one was trying to overhear them: "So you can see why I need backup for this, and why I need it faster than I could otherwise get. Like I said, a very lucky break meeting you here..." he finished.
_________
Sirens, and then a smashing sound, followed by shouting voices outside. There were several officers outside the property, and two more inside with the child when he appeared there. Their presence alone gave away that his contact was dead. No matter.
The suited man took a step forwards, and the officers turned in alarm at the sudden sounds behind them. As one opened his mouth to question the man, he raised his hand and sent the officers crashing into the back wall, where they slumped down, out cold. Turning to the child, the man held up his other hand, which was now adorned with the golden ring. After a moment he frowned: "There was promise here..." he said, his tone containing hints of disappointment. He stepped up to the child, placing a hand on the boy's head: "Sleep..." he muttered, and the child did so at his bidding. The officers outside would soon discover the unconscious officers and the sleeping child, and wonder what the hell was going on, but cover it up undoubtedly.
The man turned, and once more, vanished as quickly as he had appeared.

(I'm just going to point out that your character still knows me as Tracy Harford ) Hannah thought it over. A nest of five vampires. Five. Vampires. She looked at the man and nodded. "Fine. I'm in. But we lay down a plan before we go in. I don't want to end up dead on account of a mistake." She took another swig from her glass and put it down again. "When do we leave?"

((I know; when he talks to her, he'll call her Tracy I'm just typing Hannah when I'm doing description. He thinks she's called Tracy at the moment)) That was a relief: "Thank you..." he replied, genuinely grateful that she was willing to help him. It was a lot of worry dealt with before the risky job was started: "Of course; I wouldn't dream of going at Vampires without a plan..." he continued: "I was hoping to head out as soon as possible; now that you've agreed to help, we can leave in the morning, say 10:00am? That way we can be in Leeds by about midday, traffic dependent. I have a hotel I've used there before, I'll give you the address before we leave; I was thinking we could either meet up in the morning and head there together, or meet up at said Hotel, dependent on your preferences..." he explained: "As for planning, we can either do that tonight, but obviously not here, or tomorrow once we've arrived. There are a few places that could be potential nest sites; I'll show you during the planning stages..." he took another drink: "So would you prefer to deal with the plans now or on arrival, and would you rather travel together or rendezvous there?" he asked her.

"We'll rendezvous there. I don't go anywhere without my car." She finished off her beer and stood from her seat. "We'll also settle the plans tomorrow. Can you give me the address now? I have a friend to call before I forget and I'd like a lot of sleep before any long car ride."
She produced a pad of paper from inside her jacket and a pen and passed them over to him.

((If my counting is correct, after your next post, we need to wait on Andy ) "Sounds good to me..." Mike replied, taking the pad and pen, writing down the address of the Hotel for her, along with some directions to the place, as it could be a little tricky to find if you hadn't been there before, which was one of the reasons he liked it as a Hunter: it was nice and out of the way. Perfect as a base of operations. He slid the pad back to her: "Here you are; address and directions..." he said, finishing his beer and standing up: "If we're all sorted then, unless you've got any other questions now, I'll leave you to sort out that call and I'll meet you tomorrow at the Hotel..." he said, waiting for her answer. ((Also, feel free to skip it to when they arrive if you want, and I'll work from there once Andy's posted ^^))

Hannah took the paper and pen back and simply nodded and left. She waited until she was in her car and on her way back to her motel when she dialled her contact within the hunting world. Three rings later and Tim picked up, "Ever heard of a hunter named Mike Enfield?"
"Enfield? Perhaps, yeah, comes from a family of hunters. Last I heard his dad kicked the bucket. Attacked by a werewolf. I think." She made a noise to let him know that she'd heard him and turned into the parking lot. "Why? Ya' run into him?"
"Yeah. Damn fool let two Ghouls run free."
"Ouch. I heard they were good at Ghouls." Hannah let out a laugh and asked him to carry on. "Look, he's a decent hunter from what I've heard. Be nice to this one."
She smirked at the comment. Tim was one of the few hunters she actually got along with, just about. "Alright, well, catch you later." She closed her phone and started packing her bags, ready to leave in the morning. One thing she knew was that there was no way she was going to book herself into a hotel. People in hotels asked questions, kept their eyes out for the guests that looked shady.
She opened her laptop, booted it up and quickly typed in a search for "Cardinal Anthony Mellor. 1647 - 1721" A quick scan revealed nothing much about the guy, but she'd have to do a fuller search tomorrow, when she wasn't in need of sleep. She shut her laptop down, changed into a loose top and crawled into bed asleep.
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
Leeds. The city itself wasn't half bad and the address Mike had given her wasn't too hard to find either. After a few minutes of driving around she found a motel nearby and checked herself in. After a few minutes of slogging her bags to the room and locking, she walked to the hotel in question and found the room he had mentioned. She knocled and waited.

"Hello. Sir are you awake?" Jimmy awoke in a brightly lit room, it was almost blindingly white. It took him a few moments to adjust to where he was.
"Wait, am I in hospital?" He asked looking around to seeing all the medical equipment.
"Yes, you were found floating down the river. Do you remember how you fell in?" He realised then he was talking to a female nurse. Flashes of what happened came back to him and he remembered jumping over the fence without realizing what was at the bottom.
"Err, no... I don't remember anything from last night. Wait, wheres my stuff? I know I was carrying a bag with me."
"You weren't found with anything on you. Whats your name, we couldn't find any ID when we found you. Also was there anything important in your bag?" Jimmy racked his brains for a name.
"We have your clothes but we hadn't found any ID in your wallet or other belongings." He was glad they hadn't found the weapons at least.
"And my name is... Jim... iny Cricket."
"Isn't that a Disney character?" The nurse asked.
"Yer, my parents had a very interesting sense of humour..." Why couldn't he be a better hunter he thought.
