OOC: This is a RP taking place in a large city in New York called Samheim. This is a city inhabited primarily by monsters. All kinds are welcome. Everything from witches and warlocks to gillmen and werewolves and zombies. Humans are allowed as well. There are no special “veils” or anything like that to make humans forget about what they see. The only magical thing that'd cause them to forget what they have seen would be a spell cast by a witch or anyone capable of magic. The humans aren't completely blind either. They know there are...things out there in the city. What they don't know is just how many of these “things” there really are. The monsters in this are like humans in moral issues. I.E. They are neither inherently good nor inherently evil. Each chooses which path they decide to follow. The police department has a special section that deals with the monsters. The mayor of the city is a witch named Alexandra Delacroix. In addition to the normal duties of being mayor, she is also charged with protecting both humans and non humans from each other. For example, with vampires. It is her law that they are not allowed to feed on humans directly. Her law states they must go to various blood donor clinics or other similar places for blood. Almost like a supermarket for vampires (jk). If a vampire wishes to turn a human into a vampire, he/she must first take it up with the mayor. Special laws like these are designed mainly to keep the humans safe and, hopefully, largely ignorant of what is really out there and how many really are around in the city. Largely because, well...there's no telling how the majority of humans would really react to the knowledge that they are surrounded by monsters. As far as the mayor is concerned, keeping the humans largely ignorant also lessens the chances of hunters appearing to hunt the magical within the city. Aside from that, the city functions mostly like any other American city. McDonalds and other fast food restaurants all around, movie theaters, stadiums. There are also forests and parks, controlled primarily by werewolves, but some humans as well. The humans that work for these parks are aware that werewolves exist and they are helping with protecting their land. They are also aware that their bosses, more than likely, are werewolves. As far as various powers are concerned...I'm going to be lenient, so long as it is within reason. I'm not too worried about whether you get vampire powers from the real legends, movies, books, and RPGs (hell, between all of those, I think everything is already covered lol). As far as turning someone into a vampire, works like it did in...Interview With a Vampire, I think it was: Drain the victim of all their blood, then force your own blood into their mouth. Some vampires, mostly the young ones, but some powerful elders as well, are capable of still having a human child. These children are collectively known as dhampirs (taken from Wikipedia, this explanation en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dhampir). As for werewolves...there are two possibilities for becoming a true werewolf: hereditary or bitten. Those people who are bitten don't always become a werewolf. Even if they survive the initial attack, they may just die later on or just go on living like nothing ever happened. Those who receive their gift hereditary considers themselves, most of them anyway, to be “pure blooded.” Werewolves can be born from werewolf/werewolf, human/werewolf, and wolf/werewolf. The children of two werewolves have a 90% chance of being werewolves themselves. Children born from a werewolf and a human/wolf have a 50% chance of becoming a werewolf. The “pure born” werewolves make it a point to track down any survivor of a werewolf attack and take them in to watch over, so as to prevent an unsuspecting victim from transforming in the middle of the street and going on a rampage. That is THE very last thing the werewolf community needs. In some cases, the attacking werewolf tracks the human down solo and kills them. These situations normally occur with those werewolves who think they are better than the rest because they wore born “pure.” Silver is far from the only thing that can kill a werewolf. While it does make it a whole lot easier, since in this RP, silver is considered to be a part of the moon itself that somehow, of which even the most learned occult scholars in the city can't agree on, fell to the earth, a point blank shotgun blast to the face with non silver rounds will work just as well as any silver weapon. Werewolves are tied to the moon. As the moon waxes, they can become more excited or, in some cases, more violent. As the moon wanes, they become calmer. A werewolf's first change always occurs on the night of a full moon. For the pure born, this can happen as early as when they first hit puberty or as late as their twenties. As a general rule, if the child of a werewolf has not changed at all by the time of his/her 30th birthday, they are more than likely not ever going to change. There have been, however, some exceptions. As for those bitten...usually on the next full moon after their attack (so if it was a full moon when they were attacked, it'd be the full moon after that). If a victim has gone five years without ever changing, and assuming they haven't died either, then they are generally considered to not ever going to change. Again, there have been exceptions. Now as for magic...some werewolves may have some magic, but it isn't something widely practiced and is rare for the werewolf community. Werewolves have three forms: human, wolf, hybrid. Their human forms generally have sharp characteristics and are generally considered beautiful, in a, sometimes, rough sort of way. Beautiful like a perfectly made and ornately decorated sword. There's also a an allure about them that drives some of the humans towards them. The humans themselves, most of the time, can't even explain exactly what it is. They also have heightened senses and are stronger and faster in human form than the average human (note, by average, I'm talking about average Joe on the street, not professional athletes). In their wolf form, they are generally larger than normal wolves. They can't speak in this form, not with voices. The “speech” is a mix of growls, barks, body language, etc. Their hybrid forms are generally, but not always (this depends on the werewolf), wolfish in appearance and bipedal. One particular feature that doesn't seem to apply to every werewolf is the appearance of a tail. Human speech is possible, but difficult, in this form. Those that have worked hard enough, however, are able to speak perfectly fine. These are generally the elder werewolves who have been around for a while. Werewolves also age slower than humans do. This, however, doesn't really kick in until a few years after their first change. Ok, now zombies. They aren't always mindless, slow moving, brain eating corpses. Those types of zombies are rare and kept under lock and key or out right destroyed, depending on each individual zombie. The average zombie in Samheim is revived by magic and is a slave to a witch/warlock/other magic user. The mayor of the city has her own zombie servants, all of them deceased crack heads or other “unwanted scum” in the city with no known family members. She, along with other powerful witches and warlocks, have created a ward to place on any zombie they encounter, should they need to, that keeps them from spreading their “disease” (for the types of zombies mentioned in the beginning of this paragraph). The third common type of zombie encountered in Samheim is one that moves and acts like normal humans...only they are dead. These types most often come into existence when a human, who knows of the witches and other things in the city, can not accept the death of someone. They then pay, normally a large sum of money, a magic user to revive this someone, resulting in a zombie. These types of zombies are far from the slow, mindless corpses of the previous examples. Were it not for the obvious, if external, causes of death on their bodies, and the stench (which can only be quelled by magic), they would almost be no different in appearances than living humans. Ok, I think that pretty much covers the background info. Now for the last paragraph of this long OOC. Everyone is allowed, and definitely encouraged, to throw their own plots and subplots into this RP. Our first story arc is going to involve a Frankenstein's Monster type of creature wreaking havoc. After this arc is completed, rather than start a whole new RP, anyone is more than welcome to come up with a new story arc to take the RP. I know I'm the one that started all of this (with help from Luna, Taya, Dragon of Darkness, and Scarlet), but I fully encourage any and everyone to add in their own arcs and subplots. This was all started because of Halloween coming up, and I hope everyone will enjoy that day when it comes. Now then, lets have some fun . One last note before we end this, if anyone has any other creatures that the feel should be discussed, anything that needs to be corrected, or their own background info to add, or anything at all, pm me or, if you have me listed, IM me and we'll discuss it.

The gibbous moon shone brightly in the night sky, illuminating the streets of Samheim. All throughout the city, the night owls, both human and…otherwise, went about their nightly business, whatever that may be. The Samheim Arena was one of the local hot spots this night, October 26. The area outside the arena was packed. The line for entrance itself was wrapped along the building. All kinds of ghouls, human looking enough anyway, and other creatures stood in line, hoping for a chance to get in. There were also humans in the line as well, those accustomed to being around the creatures that come out when darkness falls. The Arena was hosting a series of cage fights tonight, the main event of which being what was drawing such a huge crowd. The fighters were a relatively big phenomenon in the city. One was a human named Lajos. A man originally from Hungary, he used a martial art from his homeland called “Baranta.” Despite being human, he has defeated many opponents in the cage matches at the arena, against both human and monster a like. He was a man that, as he himself had explained after his amazing first win in the arena, fought to prove his own strength, the strength of his country, and the strength of his particular martial art. The other fighter was the youngest to ever set foot into the cage. He was still a kid really, only 17…but what he was made him quite formidable, at least where humans were concerned. He was a werewolf and he went by the name of Terry. Unlike his opponent, he had only appeared in this Arena three times. All of those, however, were spectacular wins. In every one of his matches, Terry never shape shifted It was impossible, really, to determine which of the two combatants was the better fighter…but that didn’t mean the spectators weren’t going to guess. The opinion with the most support was that the human would win. Werewolf or not, most of the spectators there believed Terry would lose, solely under the fact that he was “just a kid.” Inside the Arena, the fighters for the main even waited. Terry was in his own locker room, getting in a brief workout before the match was to begin. He was dressed in all black: jeans, hoody, with no shirt underneath, a pair of fingerless gloves, and a pair of boots. Around his neck was a chain made of white gold with a wolf’s head for a pendant. In the eye of the wolf was a sapphire gym. His skin was white and a little on the pale side. Black hair fell down into his blue eyes, the back reaching down to a little before the middle of his neck. His eyes were filled with barely restrained savagery. On the right side of Terry’s face were two jagged claw marks. One was vertical. The other was horizontal and was below the vertical mark, though not directly attached to it. The two marks resembled a jagged, unattached “T.” The boy was practicing on a sandbag. Though to a casual observer who has never seen Terry practice before, it looked like he was beating the sand right out of it. The bag was made of leather, black in color, and hung from the ceiling. The word “Century,” obviously the maker of the bag, was scrawled on the front. With every blow Terry delivered, the bag swung wildly as if struck by something much larger than the slight looking frame Terry was. The chain above creaked as if it would break any second. As the bag came back, Terry threw two rapid punches at it, left then right. The bag shook again from his blows and flew in the opposite direction. As it came back, Terry ducked down while simultaneously moving to his left, letting the bag pass him. As soon as it came back the way it came, Terry threw a powerful right cross at the bag, sending it swinging quickly on its present course. Terry moved back in front of the bag’s path and waited for it. As it neared him again, he moved forward and left slightly, then while still in motion, struck with a powerful round kick with his back leg, turning with his whole body behind the blow. This was the final blow, as the bag finally snapped from its chains and struck the wall on Terry’s left with a loud crash. It actually shook, but just a little. Tiny bits from the ceiling rained down for a second, in that area of the room.
Terry smiled and ran a hand through his hair. He had just barely broken a sweat. “Hmm...maybe that was a little much,” he said softly to himself. Terry turned his head to take a look at the clock on his left. The green digital numbers showed 11:30 PM. The main event was scheduled for midnight. Terry's mind thought of the human he was to fight tonight. His blood began to burn in anticipation. If the rumors of this Hungarian were even half true, tonight would be a great match. Terry had fought humans before and some had beaten him. While he had only fought in this particular arena three times prior to tonight, he had fought in others. In these others, he has faced humans as well. The people in charge of the arenas had thought that with him being a werewolf, that mean Terry was good enough to take on full grown men. They were strong, a few of these humans. Terry had lost to some. Others had seen some potential in him and took him on as a temporary student. Terry had learned fast from all of his short term teachers. Terry turned his attention back to the clock. The green light now formed 11:40 PM. “Hurry up, damnit,” Terry snarled to no one in particular. He was getting to the point where he couldn't wait any longer.

The 18 year old red headed witch checked her watch as she arrived inside the Samhiem Arena.
"11:45, good I'm not late." She said to herself. Morrigan checked her coat as she entered. Since the main event hadn't started yet, Morrigan's figure drew lots of open admirers. She wore black leather heeled boots that came almost to her knee which added to her height and increased the allure of her legs and ass. The hem of her short sleeve black with purple, gray, and blue star and swirl print dress came down to a little bit past her mid thigh. Her face was pretty with a deep marron almost purple lipstick accenting her mouth and purple eyeshadow on the lids of her emerald eyes.
Morrigan made her way to the front of the crowd. She didn't approve of Terry's cage fighting but she wasn't about to let him do it without her watchful eye. That way if he got hurt she could do a healing spell afterwards and avoid the hospital.

A young woman of around seventeen and a half, nearly eighteen, also arrived at the Samheim Arena at the same time as Morrigan. She had dark, midnight-black, shiny, lucious hair that fell down in large waves and locks to her waist. Her eyes were black, tinted with red, when she was normal. Her skin was smooth and unnaturally pale for a "human". But of course, she wasn't a human. The woman was wearing a dark-blue/slate tank top that hugged her curves, reaching down to her thighs, and a short, puffy, black satin miniskirt embroidered with lace. It resembled a very short version of a lolita skirt. She was also wearing large, platform high heels that buckled up to her thighs, and large, silver hoop-earrings dangled from her ears. Many bangles, bracelets, and a Guess watch were clasped around her left wrist while her other arm remained bare.
The many numerous humans in the crowd was making Velindrea Ceilacus hungry. The scent of blood was strong, with the humans excited about the fight. Somewhere, someone began bleeding, and Veila's pupils contracted slightly as the red in her iris began bleeding out over the black. She caught herself in time and fought down the urge to feed on the plentiful supply of blood all around her.
The female vampire found herself a seat beside what looked suspiciously looked like a witch at her age. Well, she was dressed a bit like one. Velia was one of the minority of vampires that were actually alive. Meaning, she didn't burn at the sun and wasn't "undead". She resembled an exact human in appearance, other than her rather unnaturally pale skin. But that was easy to dismiss. All she had to say was that she didn't tan easily. Besides, her pale skin complimented her dark hair, with the striking contrast and all.
Velia checked her watch again. It was now 11:48. She sat for a minute, not knowing what to do. Then, she reached into her small ,leather, shiny, bronze-colored Coach purse to take out a metallic blue, Nokia cellphone. She had alway preferred Nokia to Motorola. Velia set her phone onto vibrate, and checked if she had any calls. None, so far. The vampire leaned back in her seat, giving the man behind her, that had been trying to grope her butt, the heart-chilling glare that only vampires can give. She smiled, satisfied, as the man sat back, looking rather terrified. She hoped that she had gave him nightmares for the night, and maybe two, if he was scared enough.
((Such long paragraphs...@_@ Wow this is the first time I'm actually rping an OC that is girly! -le gasp shock- Btw Velindrea is pronounced "Vell-in-dray-uh"))

"Don't be late..." a voice said from the corner wall outside of Terry's door. The familar smirk was on the figure's face, with the short brown hair tickling the skin on her neck and the bangs fallingin her light hazel eyes. "I heard the loud crash and knew this was your room." Taylor said to Terry. She wore blue jeans and a black silkened collared shirt buttoned almost to her neck with a long white gold chain hanging from her neck.
Stepping out from the corner, Sam moved infront of Taylor joining her in greeting their old friend. Taylor wrapped her arms around the shorter woman's slinder waist. Sam dressed in a short black skirt with a red tank top, topping it off with a black fish net shirt over it. She moved her long black braid so it fell over her right shoulder. Her dark blue eyes fell upon Terry's scar on his face, "I guess it never will really heal then. Sorry but we couldn't help but show up tonight."

Morrigan tapped her foot impatiently. She hated these places. It really was a brutal sport it reminded her of cock fights. The only difference was that the rooster's didn't have a choice. Any time her brother, well sort of brother, would take a hit, over even score a hit Morrigan winced. But Morrigan loved Terry in her own crazy way and she would support him an anything he did. Morrigan and Terry weren't related by blood, but she still saw him as her brother.
*But why did my brother pick such a barbaric sport?* Morrigan wondered as she fixed the hem of her dress. It was vintage, circa early 1960's, and exactly what Morrigan loved. She was always wearing Vintage styles mixed in with her modern looks. She felt the people of the past had a much better handle on fashion than they did now.

Standing in the shadows of Terry's dressing room, Cate decided it was best not to move until Sam and Taylor had left. Resisting the urge to ruffle her patent wings that sprung from her waist, she gazed across at Terry's back with crimson eyes, brushing her deep red hair out of her eyes silently. Just like Morrigan, she disagreed with Terry's participation in this sport, but was here all the same to at least make sure he saw someone reassuring, even if she was going to tease him a little. All in the name of fun, still.

Terry turned as he heard the familiar sounding voice, sticking his hands into the front pockets of his hoody. "Taylor, Sam," he said, nodding to each. He glanced back at the fallen bag, then back to the two girls, smiling sheepishly. He then ran his thumb across the familiar scar on his face, his smile never waivering. "Maybe not, but it doesn't matter," Terry said, shaking his head. "Thanks for showing up though," he said, his smile growing wider.

"How could we miss it?" Taylor said, "To see you kick a human's ass, would be hilarious." she looked around thinking she heard something but paid no attention due to the noises all around. Taylor kept her arms around Sam's waist as she watched his smiled grow.
Sam smiled as well, "The scar gives you a distinguished look though." she remarked, "I do have one question though, with the fights you have been in and even with the one that you were in with Huck, do you think you can stand up against him without changing? From the rumors, it may take alot of initative."

Velindrea tapped her fingers against the chair she waited. She hoped that the fight would start soon, as she wanted to preview of Terry's abilites. True, the file the police department had on him said that he was an excellent fighter, but she wanted to actually see him fight. They couldn't afford to blunder and have people killed because they miscalculated their skills. Veila hoped that she would be able to maneuver through the crowds after the fight if Terry had unwittingly proved himself worthy. She needed to speak to him.
Veila sighed and looked around for someone interesting to talk to. Her eyes landed on the witch beside her. "Hello," Veila said calmly and rather formally. "Nice to meet you. I'm Velindrea, Veila for short. What's your name?" She smiled slightly. "Oh, and which one do you think will win?" Veila gestured at the fighting pit. "Personally, I'm betting on the one called Terry, although he's young."

Morrigan looked at Velia surprised that it was a girl who first struck up a conversation with her.
"Morrigan, and I know the one called Terry will win, but I don't bet on this type of sport." Morrigan said disgusted that a woman whom seemed to have intelligence could bet on something like this.

Veila tried not to laugh. "I don't bet either," she said, calming down. "Betting is simply a sport for low-lives that like to waste their money on luck. I was merely asking you which you thought would win; there's no need to be so agitated."

Now had come the time for the match. The arena's announcer called for the two fighters, Terry Strowd and Lajos. When Terry heard his name, he grinned at Sam. "There's only one way to find out now."

"We'll see you out in the crowd then. Maybe take you out for a few drinks afterwards. Win or lose." Taylor said with smile, "Good luck with the match." she let go of Sam, as she turned around and stuck her hands in her pockets, to walk to the ring, but stopped waiting on Sam.
"Good luck, Terry, try not to get another scar." Sam winked as she smiled as well. She walked backwards, taking her steps carefully as she gave a small wave to him, and returned to Taylor's side. Sam hand her left hand lock onto her own right wrist and held her hands at her waist as she and Taylor walked into the arena. It was loud and crowded, chants for Terry were heard as well as chants for Lajos. Taylor saw two seats that were empty, she lead Sam towards them. As they walked to the seats, they passed both Veila and Morrigan, before they took their seats near them.

Cate stepped out of the shadows as the two walked away.
"Don't get yourself killed, kid."
