Henry nodded his head and cast his eyes at Brian with a glance. Poppy wondered up to Naomi, her head low and a slight whine in her throat. Brian wouldn't be able to say so Henry cleared his throat and took a step forward. "Thanks," he said. "We were with George," he began, trying to find the words before he stumbled over himself. How could he put this? He'd had to deliver bad news before but somehow, in this decrepit world, it only made it worse. "I'm sorry," he settled for. "But he got bit." He gave it a second to sink in before he continued on. "We erm, we didn't kill him but we did lock in him in a room. It was his wish." He sighed and hung his head. "I'm sorry," he said again. ____________________________
Will followed behind the orange woman and tried to prod a conversation into starting. But nobody seemed as upbeat as him and he walked behind them, the pipe slung over both of his shoulders with his hands on either side of it. His way of life had been "Relax, and things will get easier." Even with death around each corner he kept that philosophy in mind. Being angry, like red, only made you enemies. Blue he liked. Blue was easy to talk to it seemed. He seemed like the trusting kind of guy whilst Yellow followed behind him.
And orange. Will watched this woman with a smile on his face. Pretty, smart and with the desire to survive it looked like. And she took control with ease. Kind of. The sun was still, yet to set and Will kept throwing glances over his shoulder at the disappearing light. Sunset. He wanted to watch the sun set today.

Beth and her group encountered no trouble in the remaining journey to the camp. In the distance she could see Brian, Henry, Poppy and Naomi. The dog was sat down wagging her tail, but there was no George. Why wasn’t George with these two? It didn’t make sense.
She didn’t have time to say anything to the people following behind her. Her feet moved beneath her, walking transformed to running. She even dropped her backpack as her jog turned into a sprint, and she felt like she was out of control trying to close the distance. It was in the back of her head, a fear eating away that George wasn’t here because… because…
Without looking back at those following her, she ran up to Brian, Henry and Naomi. The dog gave out a little yap as Beth arrived. Whilst the student caught her breath, she could see Naomi was crying. Her face was red, her eyes watering, her chin wobbling. The two men had serious faces; she pieced it together. They had delivered the news. But at the same time, she had to know. Where was her friend?
“Guys whe… where’s… where is he? Why isn’t he here?”
She was fighting back tears whilst she spat her question out. She could probably guess the answer, but she needed to hear it herself.

Brian had seen more death than he cared to remember and when he'd lost someone from the various people he'd met it always hit him hard. It was something you never got used to. However this time it was different, these guys were tight-knit and were quite close. They weren't just a bunch of strangers trying to survive, they seemed like a family. The fact that they were stood here giving people this kind of news simply sucked. Henry had given the news once so he decided he may as well share the burden.
"We went into the hospital to look for supplies... He got bit turning the generator on. I'm Sorry. There was nothing we could do." Once again Brian simply looked at the floor with a grim face.

The trio followed after Beth until they reached the camp; Rose in a moody silence, Claire in her usual silence, though Simon was happy to talk whenever any of the others were, and often tried to start the talking as they walked.
On arrival, all of them took in the camp; it was very heartening for Simon to see that his points on coming together to survive in situations like this were right. He wasn't going to tell Rose that, but the dark glance she gave him pointed out that she knew he was thinking it.

Beth felt like she couldn't cry enough. She couldn't believe she would never see George again. She just didn't think this day would come. She was no boyfriend of hers, but he was a sweet enough lad and almost her best friend in this hellish world. Now he was just another undead walking around. Beth beat her hands against the ground, wailing now as the last flickers of daylight dissappeared behind the clouds.
Naomi looked upon the newest survivors to flock in with the student, and welcomed them with open arms. It wasn't the best of days. They had lost three of their own. George being bit, and the doctor and Seamus O' Connell had gone to this other camp to help out. She felt like they too could just dissappear. And with a pregnant lady in the camp, that was the last thing they needed.
She showed the newest people to their tents, offered them a basic meal of cheesy mash with fried onion, and then turned in herself. Like Beth, she felt like she could not stop weeping. Each day was a trial beyond description, and each day was getting harder.
