"Let me go! Get your greasy hands off me." Deryn screeched as she was pulled back. It would be easy enough to get out of the coat, but it was tangled in the strap of her bag and that would prove more difficult. So, she would have to try and surprise him.
Deryn jabbed her elbow back to try a catch the man in the gut, hopping he would at least be caught off guard. But he didn't seem the type of guy to be caught off guard.

Morgan almost missed the elbow, but he yanked on her coat with a growl and managed to wrap his other hand around the top of her arm. "Hold you still ya' gorram brat." With those words, Morgan pulled her away from the open door and further into the cargo bay. "The hell ya' think your doin' sneakin' around a ship like that?"

"None of your gorram business. I was just leaving. Now, put me down" Deryn nearly growled as she struggled, but was clearly over powered by her captor and her struggling was more like squirming. "They'll be here soon and if you don't want a kidnapping charge added to your record, I suggest you let me go."

"Keep thinking that Morgan; it won't happen, but you can still think it might if you must..." Cyrus chuckled at the mechanic's last comment before busying himself with the bags he'd brought. He was just about to pick them up again and take them to his shuttle when Lin's voice came over the comms; what trouble were they about to be in this time? He rolled his eyes and turned back away from the bags.
He turned towards the sudden commotion between Morgan and the girl; the girl who'd suddenly appeared on the ship. Lin was running a veritable circus apparently, and she was just going to love this wasn't she? He felt sorry for their little stowaway; Lin was liable to come down on her hard: "There's no need to be so rough with the poor girl Morgan..." he said to the mechanic, looking over at them, noticing the out-of-place clothing for a stowaway: "She's probably already scared enough as it is..." he shook his head and tapped the comm button: "I've got the Alliance thing covered Captain, but there's something that requires your attention down here..." he said: "Morgan's found a stowaway. Please be gentle with her, Captain..." he doubted that, especially since it had been him who'd asked, but he wasn't about to not try.
This day was shaping up to be lively. Stowaways and the Alliance knocking on the door. Never a dull moment aboard this ship.

Morgan narrowed his eyes at the stowaway and dragged her further away from the open bay door. "More like trespassin' ya little brat. Ya got a choice, either answer ta us or to the Alliance. I'd be more than happy ta hand you over."
He kept his hold on her tight, the fabric of her shirt and her arm held firmly in his. They needed to know why she was there and what the Cap wanted to do.

"A WHAT?!" If the comm system had a frequency or volume limit, it would have exploded there and then, right in Cyrus's face; but instead, there was the familiar click of the comm switching off before the sound of Lin storming through the ship was unmistakeable as she appeared above the cargo bay and jumped most of the way down the first flight of stairs, then down the second, storming over with such a glowering expression that she may as well have been followed by a tide of flames.
She stopped a few feet from Morgan and Deryn, a habit she'd picked up quite quickly as a cabin - never stand eye to eye with anyone when you're as tiny as she was, and focused on Deryn.
"I don't remember when I took up trafficking."

Deryn was at a loss, not that she showed it. Setting her jaw full of determination, she knew shed have to talk her way out. If they handed her over to the Alliance, they'd believe her the minute they found who she was and lock up the entire Gorram crew. But then she would also be quickly returned to the care of her mother. However, if she could spin it the right way...
She looked Lin in the face, trying not to show how scared she really was and said,
"There isn't a lot of time to argue. Hand me over to the Alliance and you'll only be shooting yourself in the foot. Let me get rid of them for you and then you can help me in return." Deryn decided it was best to avoid responding to their questions by making a deal instead.

The troopers emerged from the disembowled cruiser shaking their heads. The officer merely sighed and moved onto the next berth which contained a small hauler seemingly made up of parts of ships. He eyed the owner carefully as a transporter took the cruiser's captain away.
"Are we going to co-operate or end up like that fellow?" he asked in a hushed tone that dared to be crossed. The captain simply quaked and followed the troopers into his ship to help them search. A cadet stood by the Lieutenant and gestured towards a Firefly several bays down.
"Looks like trouble to me sir" he voiced. The lieutenant turned his attention briefly and spotted something in the cargo hold. A commotion of sorts.
"Cadet, have any missing persons been reported recently?" he asked, his eyes still fixed on a girl being held. She looked strangely familier. The cadet checked his data slate for a moment before frowning in confusion "No reports sir, though a housekeep has noted a women passed out in her apartment but no sign of the daughter. Porter doesn't recall seeing the miss leave"
"I want a sniper up there" he gestured towards a comm tower overlooking the docks "Have him identify the crew in that hold" without a further thought he clasped his hands behind his back and continued on to the next berth, inching closer to solving a doubt.

Lin scowled.
"I'm not the kind of Captain who hands anything over to t'Alliance if I can help it." She spoke in an acidic tone, pacing slightly as she kept her eyes dead set on Deryn. "Talk quickly, then. Why the hell are you on my ship? And just how do you think you'll get rid of them?"

'Truth' Deryn thought.
"I need a ride off the core. Your door was open and the dock log said you were leaving today. As for the other question, I have experience dealing with officers and I know I can get them to at least hear me out." She explained, grateful that The Captain didn't seem keen on handing her over straight off.

"An why not just ask us," Morgan drawled out with a tone. He kept one hand on the girl as the other hung limp by his side. "Serious' Cap? We sure she can tell the feds to look the other way?"
He let his eyes jump from Cap to stowaway, waiting answers.

Lin pinched the bridge of her nose, clearly finding the whole set-up too complex for her liking.
"Fine. Stay. If you can get the Alliance off my gorram ship, we'll discuss this again. If not," she stepped closer to Deryn, betraying her height difference but losing none of her intimidation as she practically shook with anger and unveiled threat, "Then I will make sure the last thing I do before the Alliance claim me is drop you out of my fucking ship from a great height. Got it?"

Deryn nodded, her eyes wide knowing the woman meant it. She swallowed and prayed that she could deliver on her words. Steeling herself, she looked at the mechanic.
"I don't think they're going to believe me, if you're still holding my arm like that."

Morgan pulled a face at the girl and threw her arm away from him. "Whatever." He glared at the girl for another minute, passed a doubtful look to the Captain and moved to lean on the stairs that led into the cargo bay. No doubt Alliance would look around and want to eye up the crew.
Rather then let them trawl through the ship, kicking over boxes, he stood, glaring at the ramp, awaiting the moment the feds would walk in. Any minute.

Deryn dusted herself off and fixed the wrinkles in her coat made by Morgan's hand. She used the motions to put her in the mind set of the spoiled brats that were unfortunately her daily social circle. Back straight, chin up she confidently moved closer to the open doors and pretended to inspect the ship as she waited for the Alliance patrol.
