The adventure is set in an alternate world, where kingdoms and empires of Men, Elves, and all manner of creatures sit side by side.
The Countries of note are: The Kindaran Empire, The Zalandrian Empire, (Both Kindara and Zalandria are human empires), The Elven Kingdoms, and the lands ruled by the Cult Of Delgran; a Demon Lord.
The world has reached a stage where the Zalandrian Empire has become jelous of the power the Kindarans hold, and has set events into motion that will likely bring about war between the two nations. In the midst of all this conflict, though, in the frontier province of Delthan, in the village of Kordak, there has been a call for adventurers to assemble in the village inn this very evening; weather it is the Emperor himself or his advisory councils of mages who has sent this call, it speaks of great riches for those who volunteer.
-With regard to your characters, you may be any race (though I wouldn't recommend anything evil), and choose any profession, along with your own reasons for applying and character background and appearance- <The characters for this are supposed to be semi-professional; functionally being competent in thier art, but at the same time not masters of it quite yet>

Ilona Tyrtlarn sipped precariously at the wine in her left hand and glanced around the semi-crowded inn. Though the silvery blonde hair that fell to the small of her waist screamed her elven heritage, her elongated frame and dull-brown eyes spoke of a more down-to-earth bloodline. Her eyes darted from person to person, examining and trying to find anyone who might fit her bill. She wore long blue robes, which seemed relatively plain, and leather boots which were beautifully crafted. Around her neck hung an obscure silver symbol.
She didn't honestly know why she'd volunteered for this mission; it was actually probably the worst decision she'd made in a while, but she had now made it, taken the job, and it was her place to see it through. And it was two minutes to the meeting time, and she was sat alone save for Sophena who was sat at her side as usual, monitoring more suspiciously the Inn's merry guests.

Sophena sat, ever alert, at her mistress' side, studying the customers with her penetratingly blue eyes. Like her mistress, she was blonde, but had the full aquilline features of a High Elven maiden; she was a beautiful specimen, her blue eyes sparkled in the light and her blonde hair was sleek and fell to her shoulders. She was suprisingly tall for an elf, standing above many humans in stature. Muscles were evident in her build and she sat in glorious plate armour, with a blue cape around her shoulders. One hand was constantly on the pommel of the elegant Elven sword that hung at her waist; sending the clear message that she would not hesitate to use it against anyone who threatened her or her mistress.

Conall walked into the bar. he wore a long dark blue tunic, which was belted by a black leather belt. he had brown pants on, with a satchel on his left side. at his waist on his right side, he had a dagger with a onyx handle and an opal at the end. his hair was brown, his skin was tan. the only thing that gave his harritage away was his red eyes, that was common in demons.
he sat at one of the tables, slouching down. from his position, anyone could tell that he was young, and probably reckless. but that would be a stupid assumtion, because he was more skilled then anyone in 20 miles. sure, there were people far stronger then he, like his father, but he was still good at what he did. but at the moment, he was bored.

Sophena carefully studied the young man in the blue cloak, making sure to keep her observations subtle.
She took note of his weaponry and what else he was carrying in an attempt to judge what profession he practiced. Her keen blue Elven eyes took cautious note of the newcomer's red eyes; her training instantly allowing her to recognise demon ancestry. Making a mental note for extreme caution, she shifted uncomfortably in her armour.

"Sophena... natyƫ-rita; mana?" Ilona spoke over the top of her glass very quietly in her natural tongue, not actually looking at Sophena as she spoke but knowing she heard. Her eyes weren't as sharp as Sophena's; instead she glanced very slowly around, trying to catch what may have attributed to Sophena's sudden switch of countenance.
(The language is Quenya, which is Tolkien's Elvish and the Elvish I tend to use. It says roughly "Sophena... You twitched; What is it?")

conall ordered a glass of water from a passing waitress. bored, he pulled out his knife and started twirling it around on his fingers. his fingers were fast and steady as they moved the sharp blade between and around his fingers. still he was bored, so he began to watch other people enter and leave the bar, his fingers never missing a beat. after a few minutes, he swiftly grabbed the onyx handle of the blade, his grip relaxed and non-threatening. he looked at the dagger for a long moment, then slid it back into it's hilt at his waist with ease. but his face held a expresion of anger, instead of relaxed. the dagger reminded him of home, and his father. at the moment, he didn't want to think about his father, or their last conversationg. "do it son, do what you were born to do!" "i'll never be like you Father, i'll never commit to the evils you do." conall shut his eyes tight against the memory, he would not go then again.

In Elven, Sophena replied; "The man in blue, maam, his eyes; he is of demon linage"
She continued her carefull observations of the bar, her hand never straying from her sword hilt.
She wondered to herself how many would apply to help in the quest; espescially as the poster had been rather vague in its detailing of the mission. Her thoughts then swiftly returned to the bar and its patrons.

"Stay calm," she spoke in the same tongue, "He does not concern either of us yet. Do you think him to be of Delgran, or perhaps of closer afield? He seems very far from home if he is Delgranian..." Ilona spoke, still lowly, sipping her sweet wine again and glancing towards the doorway. Through it as she glanced bounced a young girl.
She was redheaded and roughly 5'1'', no older than 14. She looked wild, though was quite well-dressed, and there was a dagger clearly at her side. Her skin had a slightly sallow grey to it, and her eyes were a bright, almost glowing amber. She was almost scarily thin, bones jutting past it as if willing to tear. She scoured the pub with her quick eyes, which darted about suspiciously.
"Changeling," Ilona spoke to Sophena quietly, "And looking for someone."

Sophena continued in Elven: "I'll keep an eye on her maam" She spoke quietly, tightening her grip on her weapon.
"As for our demon friend over there, I doubt he is Delgranian: if he were, not only would my senses be going haywire, he'd probably be trying to slaughter everyone in the bar; not to mention that if he were, he'd most likely be dead by now, the Empire doesn't take kindly to those who sacrifice humans; I believe we currently operate a 'destroy on sight' policy"

Ilona smiled lightly. "Certainly." Her eyes stayed on the young changeling as she glanced around the bar before settling her eyes on Ilona and Sophena and beelining towards them.

conall listened to the elven woman talk, though he could not understand what they said. he did understand one word though: Delgranian. they suspected him of being those vile monsters, the same ones that had raised him. yes, he knew the policy, kill the monsters. but he had gotten a special pass from the empire, saying he was not to be killed. conall was saved from his peoples slughter simply because he was not evil like them, he did not kill humans. in fact, he didn't kill anything, seeing as he was a vegitarian. he just hopped that if anyone confronted him, he'd had time to show his pass, before he'd have to defend himself.

Ilona muttered under her breath as the girl approached, clenching one fist, keeping her eyes fixed on her. She smiled, very slightly, and muttered to Sophena - "Not evil, not a trace of it in the bar, actually..." her eyes very briefly flickered to Conall, before returning them to the approaching Changeling, who on sight of Sophena blanched a little and drew a piece of paper from her pocket, thrusting it at their table.

A white cloaked woman walked into the bar and looked around at everyone in there. Her pale blue eyes scanned each patron before she walked slowly to the bar, the distinct sound of chain mail beneath the white fabric. She obviously had a reasonably large shield behind the fabric and a longsword at her side. She sat down and ordered a plain glass of water, turning round in her chair and leaning with her sheild against the edge of the bar. Still watching people in the bar closely.

conall saw the two new woman enter the bar, and he started to wonder if he was in the right bar. if all these woman were applieing for the job, he sure felt out of place, as the only male in the group. he just hopped that what ever was about to happen, would happen already. he was getting impatient.
