Henley jogged up to Rogers when she arrived in the hanger. She was as ready as she'd ever be. She joined the line up with the other two and soluted. "Sir."

Rogers had been surprised at how early Miller had arrived and had nodded to the man. He didn't have time to mention the briefing room when Natsumi and Henley had entered. "At ease," he said, nodding to them all. "Once Davis and Hernandez are here we can load up and go. Miller," he nodded his head to one side, taking a couple of steps in that direction, "a word."

Miller couldn't understand what he'd done wrong now. He'd done his uniform perfectly AND he was the first to arrive. He pulled a grumpy face and followed Rogers.

"Just because I turn my back, does not mean you can do as you please." He turned to face the sulking Private and stared. "I saw you kicking the table and I heard what you said. Cut your crap. Now."

Oh. "Yes, Sir." Miller replied, not too enthusiastically. He wished he was back in the mess hall with his mates.

Rogers nodded his head to the other two and said, "Get back over there and stay quiet."

He wandered back to the line-up. He looked at Sarah. He figured if anything at least he might pull.

Paciencia had locked up her room after getting changed into her combat fatigues. She had only worn this for exercises recently rather than missions, but it was time to pull it out again. It was patterned from black to the colour of tree bark to dark green. It would prove perfect for woodland missions or even missions with relative greenery. The Major had not made a statement about extreme weather conditions or environmental hazards which would warrant a special camouflage, so this had been her take. She tucked her hair down the back of her uniform so it would not get in the way.
She got to the Marksman’s Armoury to find the cadet she had punished to clean it had not even shown up. Weapons were dirty and ammo was scattered on the floor. It was a mess. She grabbed the appropriate optics and communications equipment relevant to the task at hand. Whilst she was the lone sniper on this mission compared to working with a spotter or with a team of marksmen, she could still utilize certain items in certain ways. She reached for an anti-materiel rifle, but thought otherwise – specialized rounds weren’t needed, and her deadly shot would prove useful enough minus any alternative bullets. The mission did not have a direct enemy or operative to consider fighting, but they couldn’t have something too tough to crack with standard ammunition.
After wolfing down some curry and rice in a very short space of time, she left the mess hall with her specialist sniper’s gear. She got to the hangar and saluted the major. She gave an informal nod to the remainder of her squad, noticed that Miller looked the part now at least, and fell in line.

Davis hadn't taken too long to get ready for the mission as he quickly suited up in his standard gear. He then went about gathering his weapons for the mission he had thought about what everyone else was specialised in. They had a sniper and a few good with rifles.
"Guess bringing along a shotgun couldn't hurt. Just in case." He smiled to himself. This was his weapon of choice in most combat scenarios, he was good at advancing the line and pushing positions. He also grabbed a pistol, you should never leave home without your sidearm. Davis also requested that extra medical supplies be brought on board as well, he'd recently taken several courses on doing medicine in the field and he figured since they didn't have a designated medic he could be of use in that department.
After grabbing a few extra small bits of equipment he arrived to see everyone else already at the meeting point. This was more like it, better organisation made him feel more confident about missions. He stood next to Paciencia and turned to Rogers.
"Ready to leave Sir."

Rogers nodded to everybody around him and pointed to the shuttle. "Alright people, let's go." He led them into the small space and activated the automated piloting system that would get them to the Earth's surface without a problem. _______________________________
The ride was bumpy with extreme turbulence in places that almost had Rogers heaving. His stomach never could stand bumpy rides. There were no windows on the shuttle and he closed his eyes, waiting for the thirty minute long ride to finish.

Henley and Miller had been put opposite each other in the end of the shuttle. Sarah couldn't help but feel a bit nauseous but was unsure if this was caused by the turbulence or having to look at Miller's face. She decided it was most likely to be a bit of both. Every time she caught his eyes he was looking at her with lustful eyes and she just wanted to punch his stupid, smug face. She counted down the minutes and hoped it wouldn't be too long before they landed.

Natsumi sat beside Henley as the shuttle rocked on its way down to Earth. She sat in silence, occasionally looking about the shuttle at the other members of the team that she would be working with. She did not however look at Miller. The private still did nothing to impress her nor had his appearance in an actual uniform changed her impression of him.
She doubted that the mission would either, given what she had seen of him thus far.

The silence between the soldiers did not make Paciencia think this would be a mission of extensive camaraderie. They would do their duty and leave, going their seperate ways and probably never speaking to one another again. She couldn't even recall seeing any of these people, par the Major, before today.
She was sat facing Henley, Natsumi and Rogers. She held her head in her hands with a bored flat expression. Going to and from the mission was always the most boring part.

Davis couldn't bare the silence, there was so much tension between everyone on board.
"Gum anyone?" He said holding out a stick of spearmint.

"Yeah please!" Miller replied, grabbing the chewing gum from Davis' hand and shoving it in his mouth. He proceeded to chew with his mouth open.
