"I see." Siegfried frowned. "I agree with you on that. He will need to know at some point, preferably before he is too far into his tenure. However, getting on the wrong side of the Captain is counter productive." He ran the events through his own mind once again, and despite everything he'd seen in the war, still wished he hadn't. "In due time, I'm sure that the Captain will explain the situation. Once the wounds are healed." He figured she'd realise that he didn't mean the physical ones. "For now, we do what we can to get back on our feet."

In due time ... for now, we do what we can to get back on our feet
In Mei's head, that just sounded like three seperate opinions. Three diplomatic approaches to the problem which did not resolve Mei's question. She didn't say anything, just nodded in response. She got to the mess hall and started grabbing ingredients - she'd make an omelette for herself, that was a somewhat lazy meal.

Settling down with a cup of coffee in the mess hall Siegfried allowed himself to return to his thoughts. He stayed away from the events of the previous day as much as possible, simply running over the events of the past few hours instead.
With luck they would be off this planet sooner rather than later. It would not do then any good to remain on the place where they had crashed after the Reavers hit them. Too many bad memories made in a single night.
"I have to ask." He said to Mei after several minutes of silence. "How are your wounds? We are better equipped now if anything still needs tending to."

“I’m sore but not broken. There’s like a bump here and there but it’s not been causing me bother”
She hadn’t looked up from her cooking. She pulled a grimacing face as she rolled a request on her tongue. She thought best to ask.
“Keep an eye on the Captain could you? He’s not going to come out of his room, but when he does I don’t think he’ll want me as company for a little while. Just, keep an eye on him?”
She had repeated herself, but she just wanted to make it clear. She wanted Sam to be happy, it’s just she herself could not do that right now.

"Let me know if anything changes." Siegfried responded, taking a sip from the cup and appreciating the little things as the caffeine got to work. He looked up at her as she spoke to him again.
"Of course." He nodded; he understood where she was coming from having learned about the source and cause of the raised voices. Poor girl. None of them were taking this well but Mei had always been the sensitive one amongst the crew.
Definitely the sooner they left the better.

Fayth sipped her coffee, ignoring the other two in the room, her thoughts elsewhere. Thoughts were turned to her brother, her parents, angry faces and a promise to never come back or else. That last thought had her tightening her jaw and she stood and moved towards the crew quarters, "I'll be in my bunk," she muttered.
She pushed her door open, dropped inside and closed the door once more. Death. Death of a person close to her. Parker, and the rest of the crew, were some of the closest people she had to friends, to family. Nobody messes with her family.
A sigh escaped her and she sat herself down onto her bunk, pushed her feet up and laid down, her eyes fixed on the ceiling, on the picture attached there. It was old if the dog eared corners were anything to go by. But it had been the one picture she could've taken before... Her eyes narrowed at the picture, trying to imagine what ten years since had done to the people in the picture.

Rufus rolled up outside the ship on his cart, now filled with the ship parts requested by the crew. Most of them weren't anything close to new, having being salavged off ships not unlike the one he would soon be flying on whose crews had not been lucky enough to find someone to be able to fix their ships. Beggars can't be choosers, or so Rufus told himself and how he had had to beg to get all of these parts. Even with all the favours he was owed, it had taken every ounce of charisma, guile and charm he possessed to get the parts he had here. They better be damned well pleased he thought as he walked up to the cargo bay door.
"When do I get the nag?" came a gruff yell from behind him. It was the horse trader who had offered to buy Wendy off him. It stung him to hear his faithful horse talked about like that, and he had half a mind to gun the mangy cur of a trader down where he stood. However, Rufus was not a violent man, he could not bring himself to gun a man down in cold blood. Instead he settled for yelling
"Y'll get 'yer horse when I'm good and ready! You should count 'yer lucky stars I'm sellin' your backward ass such a fine filly for such a reasonable price." The trader shot daggers at Rufus, but he couldn't care less. The man was a gutless turd.
Rufus pressed the intercom and spoke into it as clearly as his accent would allow "It's Rufus here, I got them parts you wanted. Now get 'yer asses down here and let me onto the ship." He knew he should be more polite to his hosts, but he'd had enough of being kindly and diplomatic for one day.

Riley saw the ship come down, it definitely wasn't the most dignified of landings.
"I could do better than that." He joked to himself. Riley decided that he would he back to his house and grab some money before going to investigate the ship. He had always wanted to travel and a ship that wasn't in the best of conditions would have to accept money if they wanted to get repaired. A smile crept across his face, this could be awesome.
He wasn't the smartest dressed of people, he had fairly rubbish clothes that were old and worn with patches sewn across the worst of the holes. As he ran back his long greasy hair flowed behind me. It wasn't very graceful as all but he didn't care, he wouldn't watch another ship leave without him.

"I'll get that." Siegfried finished his coffee and placed the cup into the wash before heading down to the cargo bay and the one who had been so polite over the intercom.
Opening the door he briefly studied the man outside. "Please bring them in, Mr?" He said to him, lowering the ramp to accommodate the cart.

"The name's Rufus Perry, but Y'can just call me Rufus, everyone else does" he said, tipping his hat to the man who answered the door. "And you are?" As he asks the question, he walks back to his cart, riding it toward the ship's cargo bay

"Dr Siegfried Lautner." He watched the man as he started to bring the supplies on board. "Call me Siegfried. You need a hand with any of that?"

Mei had dished up her food but thought best to see what was happening with the Doc and this stranger. She sauntered down to the cargo bay and saw the pair conversing. She leaned over the metal railing and did an over the top wave.
"Mei Xing, ship's pilot. If that so happens to be stuff for the engineer, I'll give you a hand with it. Said he was going to show me some tricks of the trade to save us if we're in a bind again."
She hovered on the railing whilst she awaited her answer. She was torn between generosity and hunger pangs, as she started to regret not just staying in the kitchen and eating her omelette.

Riley continued he run, to was too excited by the sight of the ship. He didn't realise the terrain was as muddy as it was and he slipped whilst walking over a hill. He rolled down sloppily, he hit the bottom and got up. He wasn't going to let anything stop him from getting to that ship.

"Y'all can help get yer ship parts off my cart whilst I deal with this kind gentleman over here" says Rufus, whilst unharnessing his horse and leading it over to the impatient man stood outside.

Mei nodded, grabbing pieces and taking them with her upstairs. She thought her mind was playing tricks on her when she briefly saw a man tumble down a hill. Shrugging the thought off, she took some of the fuel cells and other bits to the engine room.
Inside, she found a napping Don. She could guess from his half finished sentence that he was mid-writing when slumber overtook him. She smiled and nudged the guy awake. Or tried to, Don proved to be a heavier sleeper than she expected. Snores and all. After shouting and shaking at him, he stirred awake and tried to recover himself.
"Yeah, I was just eh.. yeah."
Mei smirked at the tired engineer and placed the necessary bits in front of him. With his good hand he did a thumbs up and started rubbing his eyes. She turned on her heel in order to get the rest of the parts from the passenger.
