Set in a new Pokémon world, so many years after the anime (no precise date). Yeah, some of you may say "But Pokémon's for kids", and tbh, I don't give one ^^. Place yourselves wherever in the story, as what kind of person you want. I'd say a good idea is to start with roughly three pokémon, having some not at their final evolution stage, and then throughout the thread you can catch more Pokémon and have your Pokémon to evolve. Rules: No godmodded Pokémon - your Pokémon does not dodge every single attack thrown at it. Your Pokémon does not have every single attack land upon their enemy, they DO miss sometimes. Your Pokémon does not know hax moves which kills all in one. Most importantly. Nobody owns any Legendary/uber epic at the beginning. If I see anybody walk into the thread with their Team as Arceus, Tyranitar, Dialga, or every other hax or hax-bordering pokémon. Also, you will not "stumble" along legendary's and they decide your "the chosen one", in fact, nobody catches any of 'em. If you want to message me about the details of this, feel free ^^. INFORMATION ABOUT THE REGIONHave fun -------------------------- The sound of the Ponyta's hooves clipping along the stoney path echoed in the trees around the horse and it's rider. The rider was a young girl, no older than 16 with long messy blonde hair that had been tied into a quick ponytail with a short white ribbon. She had a tight grip on the brown leather rein's with one hand, her other hand petting the Eevee that was perched on her shoulders. "Not long now Ty," she told him before looking back to her horse. The Ponyta was quite an unusual sight as it's mane was a sapphire blue rather than its usual flame red, which is how she got her name, Safire. She was quite a rare occurrence and it took all of the girl's persuasion to stop her parents selling it and letting her keep it instead. The last of the Pokémon with the rider was a Poochyena that was happily weaving between Safire's legs as she walked. It was still pretty much a puppy in it's behaviour, but the rider couldn't help but laugh and wonder how long it was until Safire stood on the Pup's tail. "Xena stop that," she told it. It looked up at her then, lowered its head, going to walking obediently by their side. The rider pulled the rein's to a stop as the town she was riding too came into view, it was Ruby Town, it had a few smallish office buildings and tightly packed in residential houses, but that wasn't why she was here, in one of those office buildings, there was a Gym Leader she'd come to see. She smiled and looked down to the Poochyena, "Okay time to go back into your pokeball. You too Ty." She pulled two balls from the strap of her bag and soon the two small pokemon were save. Clipping them back on her belt she leaned forward to pet the Ponyta's neck. "Lets ride." She squeezed the horse's sides with her heels and Safire quickly started into a gallop. She kept her grip as she rode into the town and following the signs to the Pokemon Gym. She slowed to a stop outside of the gym, she could barely recognise it as one as it looked no different from any of the other office buildings, save from a sign by the door. She took a deep breath and climbed off the horse, finally noticing the attention the blue ponyta had in the town, a small crowd looking at her, pointing and whispering about the unusual sight. She took the last pokeball off her bag and recalled Safire, and now with a lack of something to stare at the crowd moved on, and the girl went into the building and to the reception. "Hello, and how can I help you?" asked the receptionist when she saw the girl come in. "Um... My name's Kayla. I'm here to see the Gym Leader?" she said looking around the contemporary building, comparing it to the wooden farmhouse's back home. "Oh yes. Please take a seat. I will let the CEO know you have arrived." Kayla did as told and watched the receptionist pick up the phone and make a call, to what she assumed was the Gym Leader. “Isaac,
Make us proud son! We set you up some Pokémon through the trade link, they’ll be there by your arrival. Keep us posted!
Mom and Dad”
He had read the letter countless times, the last thing his Dad had given to Isaac before he had set off on the plane to Sapphire City airport. Isaac had his backpack ready, a bank account with enough funds to last him, and hopefully some decent Pokémon in the trade link ready to use. This trip was an echo of his father’s teenage adventures in Kanto, and he had hoped to outdo his father by actually beating a whole eight gyms. Whilst his Dad, Matt, had kept training with the likes of a Nidoking and Feraligatr, he never got more than five gym badges and instead went into the field of research, where he met his wife and Isaac’s mother. Isaac was determined to outdo that. No distractions, no love-life, no giving in.
Isaac was of average height, a little lean, and had curly black hair which bounced down to his chin. His dirty brown eyes were youthful, his features still somewhat child-like and his jawline soft and rounded with freckles and spots. In the relatively warm climate Levona held, he sported summery clothes of shorts and a light t-shirt, usually accompanied with running shoes. Red was his colour of choice, which accompanied his hot-headed personality. Isaac was always itching for confrontation, with a fiery temperament ready to burst. It was this aspiration, albeit an angsty one, which created a desire to challenge the most elite trainers – the Levona league.
Funded by his parents, this trip was of self-discovery, a mission for Isaac. He was now fourteen and wanted to get his life rolling. He wanted to return to Kanto to their home in Pewter and to present himself as a Levona champion. Of course, he was only minutes off the runway at the moment, the Levona League was miles and miles off.
He traversed to the Sapphire City Pokécentre and to the computer in which he could access the terminal required for the trade link. His father had sent over two Pokémon, both which had been caught in his parents’ scientific pursuits. He literally had no idea what to expect as the two Pokéballs dropped out of the machine.
“Well, here goes nothing… ” the lad muttered, throwing down one Pokéball.
Out it burst, rolling about in small circles making cute barks of glee. The Spheal’s eyes were bright and happy, and it waddled over towards Isaac. He smiled, rubbing the seal Pokémon on the head. It barked again, it’s small face one of content. Behind its fluffy fur, it appeared to be making almost a purring vibrating motion. Isaac placed it back in the Pokéball, pleased with the Spheal. He threw the second Pokéball.
In the space of the next ten seconds, two individuals in the Pokécentre threw up, a nurse ran out in disgust and security kindly escorted Isaac and his new “companion” off the premises. He looked at the creature, an idle-eyed Grimer which oozed and pulsated a horrendous purple liquid in its general vicinity. It reeked, for lack of a better word, and even Isaac was straining not to gag. The Grimer repeatedly called its own name, waving its hands in the air in excitement whilst flinging sludge about itself. Before other locals could be upset by this Pokémon, Isaac returned it to its Pokéball. Fresh air never smelt so good.
He was annoyed, his father always the joker. He’d angrily call him up in a short while, yelling at him to ask what would ever possess him to think a Grimer would be a good Pokémon to have! Nevertheless, Isaac’s priority was to reach the first gym in Ruby Town. He began his journey north upon Route 233.

She stopped at a nice spot underneath a set of trees and lowered her rucksack to the ground gently. The sun let through streams of green waves that highlighted the floor in a broken pattern. The next to hit the floor was her denim jacket, laid flat at the base of a tree. 15 year old Becky removed her hat hung it on a broken tree limb above and sat her back against the wooden wall. A pleasant sigh escaped and for a moment she closed her eyes and enjoyed the dark warmth the leaves provided.
Then came a yelp, followed by a growl. Her head tilted forward, the corner of her mouth quirked into a smirk. Two fingers in her mouth provided a loud enough whistle to call a loud set of feet in her direction with speed. A spunky young Growlithe appeared first, face looking bright for attention and his tail whishing from one side to the other.
Almost at a drawl an Umbreon appeared, his face and posture giving off all vibes of irritance towards the young pup. It sat, tail curled around its feet and head balanced towards Becky in an uninterested fashion. "Behave. Both of you."
The Growlithe, Zane, lowered his head and promptly lay flat against the ground, head position on his front two paws. Umbreon merely stood, trotted to one side of the tree and curled itself up on the floor. She suspected he, Sparky, as she had called him, would sleep for a short while. At least that was the plan.
Ignoring Sparky, she stretched a hand out to Zane and rubbed the back of his head, "Come on," she patted the space on her other side and Zane jumped up, a happy pup knowing that it now wasn't in trouble, and pranced to the spot. He laid down and let himself observe the surrounding shrubbery for any dangers. They had found a patch of dry dirt just off the main path and behind enough shrubbery to hide them from anybody.
Becky let the two settle themselves down before she pulled her bag closer, and unzipped the main hatch. The first thing to come out was a blanket, which she laid on the ground. The second thing to come out was an egg. It was a black and yellow egg in which the colours met in a zigzag pattern. A Pichu. There was a shuffle from either side of her as both Zane and Sparky turned their heads to either glance at the object or examine it. Becky wrapped the egg up and propped up between herself and Zane. The pup had grown protective of the egg since she'd received it in Opal town, abandoned by another trainer at day care.
From her bag she pulled out a bag of food and two small bowls, one for each Pokemon. She poured some out into one bowl, water from a bottle into the other and set them off to one side before she took a swig of water, capped the bottle and let herself close her eyes, content with the days work; Zane had started to learn flame wheel and she hoped it wouldn't be long before he could do it almost perfectly. Then the earth badge was theirs.

Route 233 was warm, sunlight blaring on most of the open road and only the slightest breeze from the sea to the west. The salt air could be briefly smelt, but pollen was an overpowering aroma in comparison. Bulbasaurs, Bollossoms and Bellsprouts, as well as other flowery pokémon, dashed about in the overgrowth either side of the path. A spritely young Starly chirped and cheeped behind Isaac, and he contemplated capturing it before realizing he had left Sapphire city before buying any Pokéballs. All thanks to his Grimer.
Isaac kept both of his Pokémon away for the meanwhile, he quite liked the Spheal but the Grimer was a nuisance more than anything. He locked eyes with many a trainer, but most seem pre-occupied on this fine summer’s day. He was raring to fight with his new Pokémon, yet it seemed he was the only one up for it.
His running was slowing down to a walk now, and he considered the possibility of purchasing a bicycle at some point; walking seemed so time-consuming in comparison. He thought about home, about Kanto, and how Levona was so much warmer. He even contemplated taking a trip to the beach and swimming, how maybe his Spheal could swim along with him. The walk to Ruby Town was just of pondering and sondering, of excitement and anticipation, of new opportunities in this new land.
Ruby Town was now in sight, small market stalls dotted here and there on the road and a large building which could only be the Gym… or the Pokécentre… or the Pokémart? He didn’t know. Isaac’s walk turned into a dash as he wanted to get the ball rolling on his journey to the Levona league. Time had come to challenge the first gym leader!
