Berma continued on her way towards Lord Arkanian's castle instead of following the trail of blood because she wanted to have the greatest revenge possible. Berma had already met Lord Arkanian as he worked well with the ogers. Lord Arkanian was responsible for the enchantment spell that had been placed on Rose. Lord Arkanian had taken over Rose's village. Many humans were killed in the process. Rose was one of the many villagers that were given to the ogers in order to be servants. Berma had seen his power up close and new that he would not be happy about what happened.
Berma continued on her path cutting ever rose she saw on the way. Finally she made it to the castle village and walked through the town. Many of the villagers were frightened because if you saw an ogre odds are it would mean that they wanted a new severant.
"Hello my lady, how may I assist you today?" a man asked.
"I'd like to see Lord Arkanian please." Berma replied.
"It will be just a moment. Please follow me." the man ushered Berma into the chamber that Lord Arkanian was in. "Good day, your majesty, but this ogress would like to speak to you.
"Fine. So be it." Lord Arkanain was not happy about having a visitor but knew he had no choice. "What can I do for you?"
"Do you remember a girl named Rose Hunter?" Berma asked Lord Arkanian. At this point the man began to gasp.
"Sounds familiar." Lord Arkanian began to remember how Rose was not able to controlled by magic and how he had just killed her brother. "What about her? She is already a slave. What do you need her for?"
"She killed my brother. The heartless girl took his life and, of all days, on my birthday. I want her to die. I want her to suffer like I am suffering."
"Say where did you learn to talk? You speak much better than the others." Lord Arkanian tried to change the subject. He knew that something was different and wanted to keep Berma off the main topic.
'My servant taught me." Berma was happy to hear that all her trial to learn proper English had finally payed off. "I want to kill Rose myself but I can't do it alone. I am only nine you know. Maybe you could give me some magic or maybe I could borrow this guy." Berma grabbed the guy by the arm.
"Nicholas? You want him to join you? No he is still in need of some...programing. Take this." Lord Arkanian zapped Berma's knives with a flash of yellow light. "The lightning in your knives will make a simple flesh wound on the humans turn into almost death. Perhaps you should stay here a bit and train. I will send you in the right direction tomorrow morning. Then tomorrow you can go ahead and kill Rose Hunter."
"NOOOOOOOOO....." Nicholas screamed still in Berma's grasp.
"YOU DARE DEFY ME?" Lord Arkanian was so mad that with in a snap of a finger Nicholas was sent to the dungeon. "Go ahead and see your self to the spare room. I will send you some weak patients of mine for you to practice on. Now leave!'
Berma smiled "Thank you, your majesty!" and headed to the spare room.

Rose stumbled along into the forest. It wasn't until she reached the deeper part of the forest that she noticed the tiny drops of blood on the leaves behind her. Now as she walked she used her foot to cover up her trail. The morning was already progressing and Rose felt certain it had to be midday fairly soon. But she couldn't tell if her guess was right because in the deeper part of the forest very little light made it through the dense tree branches.
Exhaustion was setting in and Rose looked desperately for somewhere to sleep. Then as if someone had her wish she spotted an stone outcropping just ahead. Below it the ground was covered with moss leaves. It looked so soft and inviting, that Rose hurried, well as much as she could, over. Ducking under the rock, Rose let herself fall onto the bed that nature had made her. tears followed by well needed sleep descended upon Rose as indeed outside the forest the sun had rise to midday.

Nicholas found him in a small dark dungeon. Nicholas had not know about there being dungeons so now he was really scared as to what him being there ment for him. Not being restrained he reached for the handle of the door and his hand got burned. Magic was blocking his way of escape so he decided to just sit down and think.
"Harry what happened to you?" he asked. Nicholas knew two things: first he wanted to serve Lord Arkanian for some reason, second that Lord Arkanian was evil and that he should be stopped. He knew that some how he had to be under some sort of spell. His family had told him that he had magic as well but that it was sealed away to protect him. He wished that he would be able to see if Harold escape went well and how Rose got free. Rose was always on his mind and when she was brought up earlier his true emotions were able to come out and so he spoke up. He was uncertain if Harold knew about the dugeons and if he was going to get rescued from them. What kept him calm was knowing that at least Harold and Rose were free and would be okay. He wanted to stop the Ogress but had no idea how so he was forced to sit and wait.

She certainly was a strange thing, Odie observed. Lay beneath a rock in the middle of the day; what a silly thing to do! She peered over it at the sleeping Rose beneath, wide brown eyes curiously peering at her. Was she dead? She reached round with one skinny arm and poked Rose in the arm.
"Oi! You awake, lady?"

"Oww..." Rose moaned as she slowly began to open her eyes. She looked up into brown eyes surprised to see someone there.

"Shouldn't sleep there. Bad things will happen," said Odie, almost in a sing-song voice, leap-frogging over the rock and crouching near Rose. "Why you sleepin' there?"

"Cause there's no where else for me to go." Rose said a lump forming in her throat.

"Of course there is. You just gotta look better. Come on," said Odie, turning and standing, striding into the forest as if she knew it like the back of her hand. Now in full view, she wore a waist-length dyed green cloak, slung back over her shoulders, and short slacks. The blouse she wore under the cloak was yellowing and tattered, her hair was long and sandy yellow, and her skin was darkened by the sun. Her hands had a pinkish tinge to them, like the colour of berry juice.
"Are you comin'?"

Rose scrambled to her feet and quickly followed the odd girl. After sleeping a bit she felt a bit better and could move a little faster.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"psst.." a voice from the darkness of the dungeons hissed.
Odie led Rose through the forest in a seemingly random manner, straying completely off any tellable path, into the depth of the forest. She occasionally glanced back to check Rose was still following. After what seemed like forever, the two came upon a path which wore into the woods and seemed to lead into a large clearing.
In the clearing, there was a wooden cabin, and a large patch of a variety of flowers and herbs surrounded by a small wooden fence. In the middle of the clearing, there was a burnt out campfire.
"Come on, Forestwife'll help you," said Odie with a small smile, pointing at the cabin.
"Who?" Rose said as they came upon the clearing. The journey had worried her and she had know way of knowing the way back out. But finding a cabin in the middle of the forest seemed very odd to her.
"Thea!" Odie began calling into the clearing, heading for the cabin, "Thea, I found one, from the town!"
As she called out again, the door to the cabin opened. Out of the cabin stepped a woman much older than either Odie or Rose, with tanned, weathered skin and brown hair that was most of the way into greying that curled around her face and down her back. She wore a cloak much like Odie's, only longer, and a long green skirt which looked like it had once been quite elegant. She saw Rose, and gave her a kind smile.
"You look exhausted, my love. Please, come inside."
Odie just turned and grinned at Rose, as if satisified.
The cabin looked so inviting and Rose felt so lost and alone. So she walked up to Thea.
"Hullo," Rose said clumisly, not really knowing what else to say. "I'm Rose. Rose Hunter. I ... I can pay a little for a bed and any clean dressings you might have, Ma'am."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Newbie... psst.. I'm talking to you. You deaf or something." the voice said to Nicholas.

Thea smiled kindly and turned her gaze to cabin.
"Keep your gold, lass, and rest. There's a broth just made, and I'm very sure Odie will go berry-collecting soon," she glanced at Odie as she spoke and she disappeared into the forest in seconds. "Come inside."
Thea then began back towards the cabin, plucking a herb from the small herb garden as she walked past it.

Rose, not having anywhere else to go, followed Thea. "Thank you" she said as they entered the cabin. "I can work. If you like."
