Rakzul didn't register what the Elf had said to him. He just continued to sit there waiting for land to appear.

"Forgive me, Feldoran. I think maybe your negotiations are beyond the orc's comprehensions. Might I suggest we just leave him until we reach land and see what he wishes to do then? I can always send him back if necessary." Fivara didn't particularly want the company of another orc, but his strength would come in handy.

Feldoran turned to look at Fivara as she approached. She was probably onto something there. "Protocol dictated that I try. I tried." He agreed. "We'll have to see where things stand once we arrive at the city.
__________
Five days later and on schedule the great city of Darrell appeared on the horizon. Unlike the Capital the riverside wharves did not flow through the city itself but rather lay in an extended, walled dockyard which lay before the city.
The river gate was open for the day's trading and they were guided in. A quick show of papers sped them through the usual lengthy customs process, and a column of Imperial soldiers lead them to a comfortable private house in the merchant quarter of the city and showed them to a large sitting area stocked with refreshments.
"We have the day here to rest and resupply. Do not leave the house grounds for security purposes, but the grounds are extensive so feel free to wander the property. We'll be leaving at first light tomorrow with our horses. Other than that the day is yours."

Fivara longed for fresh air but she could see that was out of the question. She wanted some space from the rest of the group. She could teleport just for a while...but then no. They would notice, and she couldn't get kicked out. Fivara headed for the stairs without saying a word, wanting to get as far from the others as possible.

Adwen blew a puff of air out of her cheeks and sighed. She decided to just sit on her bed, legs folded and eyes closed. She could rest for a little while, do a mental inventory of what she'd seen people carrying and what she herself was carrying. Her fingers itched to do something. Five days was a long time to wait. Too long.

Magdud had been in a grumpy mood for the duration of the boat journey. The close quarters nature with stranger had begun to test his patience. Even the other Orc was different from Magdud, and he felt so very far away from home now. The Orc did not project sadness though, he simply turned it into a bitter attitude. When he was not asleep on the barge, he was in the bed to avoid interacting with the others. He would emerge for food, eat enough to sate an Orcish appetite, and then remain on his own. He missed Stonefang Gulch that little bit more with and every passing minute. Or maybe he just missed the action of Stonefang Gulch? Sinking his axe into an enemy would maybe make him happy.
Being told they were not allowed to leave the grounds was that. He made it clear he was going outside in a civilised enough fashion, even excusing himself in an almost imperial fashion. Once he had left the sight of the building he decided to spit in disgust. The green, brown and yellow ball of phlegm and food splatted onto the dirt. His face, now clean of war paint for he had run out of the appropriate dye, was a face of miserable anger.
He walked until he reached the stone walls which signalled the ends of the houses grounds. The artisanship in the building work was impressive, for the grey stone was smoother than he imagined. There was nowhere the Orc could use as a foothold to push himself up, even just to see what was outside of the house. If he would be able to get over this way it would be without the house owner knowing, without Feldoran knowing. Even if it was just to explore. But no, the wall was an obstacle.
Magdud slumped against the wall. The bored Orc thought best to meditate with the elementals again, in order to settle his mind. He crossed his legs and placed his axe across his lap. With bestial grunts and snorts, he began to pray.

Rakzul had spent most of his time of the boaty thing rocking back and forth waiting to reach land. He didn't like it at all and the second they had stopped he stood up and ran off the boat as fast as he could. He took a few moments after getting off to study his surroundings, there were people a lot of people. He decided he didn't like it here and kept running trying to find a forest or something.

Fivara found a balcony on one of the higher floors of the house. She stood with her hands delicately placed on the stone edge. The scenery was beautiful, she loved the trees. Trees were peaceful and contributed nothing but good to the world. She bored of the clothes she'd been wearing on the boat so unclipped the tiny backpack from her hair and opened it. She pulled out a dress that she held between her finger and thumb and held it against her. The dress suddenly swapped with the one she was wearing, which she placed back in the backpack that she then clipped back in her hair. This dress was much more grand, it lightly brushed the floor and was nearly joined by her long, silk sleeves. The dress was a very pale green, almost white, and shone in the light. She leaned on the balcony and took a deep breath. Fresh air was wonderful.
She thought about the orc that had ran off when they'd reached land. She wondered if Feldoran would ask her to locate him for use in the mission. He was stupid but he was strong. More than anything he was a distraction for the other orc which was enough for Fivara. Then she thought about the half-elf and pondered whether there were any spells she could get away with casting on her. She figured she'd have to wait until they were on the mission properly before she'd get away with anything.

Feldoran proceeded to the owner's office to discuss the finer points of their mission from this point onwards, and to ensure that they would have everything that they would need in place on schedule.
Seyla took the opportunity once back on dry land to find the house's Chapel and immediately set to her prayers in joyous serenity after the turbulence and much more crapmed conditions of the barge for the most part of the previous week.

Adwen sighed with boredom. When the hell were they going to get on with things?
