I sat in the sitting room wondering if there was some way I could escape without breakfast without being rude. Realizing that there was no way I could without insulting anyone, I consigned myself to having to leave late, sat down, and began thinking about my investigation.
There were plenty of ways I could go about it but the fastest would be to get my hands on a copy of the autopsy reports. A quick look through those would confirm if the woman I was here to find was even alive. Not that it mattered. I suspected from the start that the person I was here to find didn't even exist, I only took the case because it was paying work and I was curious. Getting my hands on the autopsy reports wouldn't be easy. I could try to find someone to bribe for a copy, even small towns harbored people that would do anything for money. I once ran into a man, perfectly sober, who actually pulled three of his own teeth with a pair of vice-grips for a couple grand. But, if their was only one coroner in the city, he or she would be handling all the cases alone and, bribing an intern or orderly would be out of the question.
"Oh, hello" A delicate voice said.
Glancing in the direction of the voice, I saw a young teen girl standing at the entrance. She was wearing a delicate looking dress and her hair fell loosely about her shoulders. She looked like something out of one of those old tv shows like The Waltons or Little House on the Prairie. 'Whats next?' I thought. 'Will Ma and Pa kettle show up for a visit?'
"Hello." I said. "If your looking for Bellé, she's in the kitchen."

Terry awoke rather abruptly. He didn't bother stifling his growl as his eyes darted around the room, trying to track down the source of this noise. It was way too loud, whatever it was, and it managed to put him in a rather foul mood. Anyone looking at him could probably tell, especially with his hand held at his side, somewhat shaped like a claw.
Terry forced himself to try and calm down. This wasn't the place. The noise made that rather difficult. Still, the boy was able to at least relax his hand.
Terry finally tracked the noise to something hitting his window. Getting out of bed fully, he walked over and looked out. There, in the trees, he saw a familiar figure. How did anyone but him not notice such a racket?
Terry opened the window, head ducked to the side in case another rock came his way. "Morning."

Bobby nodded. "Thanks. Is there anything I could help you with, or has my grandmother already taken care of you?"

"No. I'm fine. Thanks." I said with a smile before returning to my thoughts.

Her first reaction was to run when she saw how angry he was, but Morrigan was pretty sure she could handle anything Terry could throw at her. So she put on a bright smile like she wasn't phased.
"Morning." she said. "Pleasantries out of the way. I found out where that weirdo fisherman is staying. If we hurry, we can follow him. See if his story actually checks out. Now let's go."

Terry couldn't help but be curious. "And how did you find this out?" Holding back a smile, he did move out of the way a bit more, allowing Sarah a chance to enter, should she choose.

Bobby had been about to leave. That is, until Terry's words came to her mind. Oh, hey, could you keep your eye out for any strangers in town? There was someone in the forest earlier, tourist I guess. There was something...off about him. Just keep an eye out, is all.
Bobby stopped and turned back to the guest. "Where are you from?" she soon found herself asking.

OCC: Back to third person for now since I'm dealing with a non NPC character.
ICC:
John's eyebrow rose imperceptively. He wasn't that surprised by the question. In a small town like he was bound to attract questions and the girl was just trying to start a friendly conversation. And friendly conversations were good ways to get information. "I'm from up north." He said. "In Michigan."

"Come a bit far, haven't you?" Bobby asked. A smile touched her lips. He seemed friendly enough, at least to her, and didn't look too out of the ordinary. Probably isn't who Terry was talking about, she thought to herself. "So, what made you come down to our sticks?" she asked with a giggle.

"There's no such thing as too far when you're getting away from work." He replied with a laugh. "Seriously though, I came here to relax, see the sights, and get in some fishing if I can find a good spot. Nobody seems to want to share any good locations."

"Does it matter?" Morrigan asked as she climbed in through the window. "He's having breakfast at The Willows as we speak, but he seemed pretty anxious to get moving. So get dressed and let's go." She opened his drawer and threw a shirt at him. Just because Terry wasn't a morning person, didn't mean Morrigan would treat him any different than she usually did.

Terry caught his shirt, a simple black and white, and moved to his own dresser to grab a few more items. "Be back in a few," he said with a yawn.
A few turned out to be more like ten minutes as he showered and brushed his teeth. The boy's hair was still wet as he returned, now dressed in a pair of dark blue jeans and the t-shirt Morrigan had thrown him.
"Where...?" Terry muttered as he looked around his room. "There." Off in one corner, lay a pair of boots which Terry quickly slipped into.
"After you," Terry smiled as he returned to the window, ready to close it behind them as they left.

"Hmm," Bobby whispered. "You could always try G--White Oak Lake. It is a good ways in the woods though, so you ought to be careful." Bobby had almost slipped up there, giving the name of the lake she was just at. True, their current party was finished, but that didn't mean they wouldn't be back at the lake soon. It was probably better to send him to a lake they don't really frequent.
"Though I wouldn't recommend heading there alone," Bobby added as an afterthought.

John tilted his head to one side quizically. For a moment it seemed to him like she was about to say a different name but changed her mind at the last minute. Ignoring the slip up, he asked. "Oh? How come?"

Morrigan smirked and climb back out of the window. She shimmed back down with ease. Her need to know what was going on and prove it came from the plain fact that her family's murderers were still walking around free. She also knew that if she ever ended up back there, they would be quick to kill her too. So when a mystery presented it self, she had to solve if only because she could pretend she was doing something. Not that she would tell anyone that and doubted she ever would.

John frowned. The teen in front of him seemed to freeze in time like a paused movie. He waved his hand in front of her face and snapped his fingers to try to get her attention but it was to no avail. "What a strange little town. It's almost like Village of the Damned." He muttered to himself as he walked out the door, wondering if it was just the teen or if the rest of the town had frozen up as well. OCC: April Fools

Bobby was hesitant at first. "There...have been a lot of animal attacks recently. Bears mostly. It just would be better if you weren't alone." Try as she may, Bobby was unable to fully keep the agitation out of her voice.

Terry followed Sarah as they made their way towards the Willows. He was unable to stifle his curiosity. What is it about this man that could smell so wrong? Was he actually not human? Did I misinterpret that scent? No matter. He would have his answer soon enough...hopefully.

Bear attacks? So much for the serial killer using attack dogs theory. John thought. Then again. She probably heard it was bears from someone else and bears don't explain the vision. She is clearly bothered though. Maybe I can get her to say more. "No worries." He replied casually. "I'll be careful. Besides, I could always spend my time wandering the shops and relaxing instead. Is it really that dangerous?"
