This game is based around the ideas of The 'Claymore' Series.
For anyone who hasn't seen it, but would still like to play, here is a brief outlay of the world; Monsters called Yoma prowl the land, feasting on humans. A mysterious organisation (Known only as 'The Organisation' created a ybrid race of warriors from Humans and Yoma; The Claymores, as they are known for the huge swords they wield. These warriors are a deadly mix of the two races and are requested by the human population to kill local Yoma, for a price, which is collected later by one of the administrators of the organisation. Claymores are an all-female race; as the earlier males 'Awakened'-succumed to their Yoma powers and became even more terrible monsters as a result. Awakened Beings, as they are known, are the deadliest monsters in the world, and Awakening is a threat to all Claymores in existence, if they use too much of their powers. Claymores are characterised by their Silver hair and Eyes, which gained them the name Silver Eyed Slayers.
This paticular game is set roughly 200 years after the stories of of the Manga, and the world has greatly changed since; The Human population hass expanded, and so too has the population of the Yoma; who have also increased in power and cunning. The world now consists of 70 Regions, with one Claymore hailing from each region (as opposed to the old world of 47 regions). There are sometimes more than 70 Claymores, however, as The Organisation my be forced to create more to combat larger concentrations of Yoma.
Each Claymore is given a number, which corresponds to their home region, and theri rank within the Organisation (1 being highest 70 being lowest); Individual power also depends on rank in the same fashion.
Power is distributed as so; Ranks 1-5 are the most powerful, with moderate differnce between them. Ranks 6-10 are roughly equal. Ranks 11-20 are roughly equal. 20-30 are roughly equal. 30-40 are roughly equal. 50-60 are roughly equal. Finally 60-70 are roughly equal. But there are large jumps between 5and6, 10and11, 19and20, 29and30, 39and40, 49and50, 59and60, 69and70.
Claymores have the ability to sense the auras of Yoma and other Claymores; making them especially good hunters. The Cardinal sin for Claymores is killing a human, no matter wha the circumstances; If they do and are discovered, then they are hunted down by their own kind.
The character of this can either be Human or Claymores; In the Case of Claymores, you must be female, as males are unstable and therefore not employed in this time period; You may choose to make your character practically as you wish, however, you must be of rank 56-70 (joint rankes in this level are acceptable; so more than one person my be of the same rank). The Claymores start within the Claymore's Citadel headquarters, as the raw recruits, waiting for their training to begin. Claymores are automatically superior to Humans; Yoma will be difficult to handle in large numbers at first, but experience will come quite quickly. Humans may start within the Citadel's human popuulace and meet the Claymores when they deem most appropriate, or they may start outside the Citadel, in one fo the settlements, and meet they Claymores along the way. Backgrounds are completely up to you in either case.
As a note Claymores in this game are ordained between the ages of 14-20; and stop visibly ageing at 20.
Also the idea is to have a smooth transition into the game for entry of characters who join after the main group has begun; If you're a Claymore, you just get the orders to be at the same place as the group; If you're human, you can live in that area or simply travel there as you like.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The sounds of clanging metal and splintering wood were high in the the air within the Citadel's main training yard; Large groups of newly ordained warriors hacked at traineg dummies, posts and sparred with each other, under the supervision of the eagle-eyed instructers. A tall, slender Claymore, with obvious muscle wandered throughout the shifting masses, eyeing each one with interest. She had her trademark weapon strapped across her back. Her short, cropped Silver hair swayed in the slight breeze as she reached a raised platform; "Welcome to you all!" She adressed the throng of young warriors, most of whom turned to face her; "My name is Seraphim. I am the Organisation's Number 12, and will be your head instructor..."
Across the courtyard, right in the in corner, another Claymore was stood, between an array of metal training stautes, her Claymore in hand; She was taller still than Seraphim, about 6ft in height, again with obvious muscles and was strikingly beautiful. She appeared around 20 years old. Her long Silver hair trailed behind her, just past her shoulders, as she darted around the statues with blinding speed, and her Silver eyes twinkled in the bright sunlight; 'There she goes...She was always one for ceremony' She thought to herself as she struck the statues with a resounding clang; 'Time to improve my record...' She lashed out, and with an almightly clang and ringing crash cleaved each of the statues neatly in two, in under five seconds; Many of the assembled crownd turned at the sound

Beside one of the statues lent a lithe Claymore, watching Seraphim with mild disinterest. Her slitted silver eyes flicked across to the source of the clanging coming closer, narrowing with each clang. Her knee length silver hair flowed around and over her shoulder as she hefted her Claymore with a little effort and placed it in the path of the approaching blade. Her soft face smiled slightly for no apparent reason as she widened her stance a little. She tensed every muscle in her slender frame and loosened her grip on her Claymore.

On the platform Seraphim was in the middle of her speech when she saw someone leaning behind one of the statues in the far corner; 'Oh Shit!' She stopped short mid speech as the claymore she was watching raised her blade; her sudden cry causing everyone else to turn in the direction which she was looking. She leapt off the platform and began rapidly towards the corner, many of the other instructers doing the same.
Meanwhile, The Claymore saw the sword come into her view and didn't stop; her blade crashing full force into the one in her path wioth such force as to send it spinning from the grip of the wielder, and continued on to cut the statue in half and stopped just before it connected with the claymore behind it; "You're rather brave" She said in an irritated tone; looking down at this newcomer, she noted the nodescript insignia on her lapel. She smiled a little then brought the back of her left hand sharply across the others cheek; "Name and rank. Now!" She barked

She stood stock still constantly. As her Claymore left her hands, as the blade came through the statue and even when the back hand stung her cheek, she just stood smiling faintly. She tilted her head towards the clearly irritated Claymore and stared with constantly slitted eyes, severed strands of her hair fluttering down to the ground like feathers. "Nya, 75" she spoke softly, like a clearly audible whisper.

The Claymore looked down with mild surprise; "75?" She sighed "They really have stopped teaching common sense haven't they?" Her voice slipped back to its usual silvery tones; "I wonder why such things escape them, especially when they are tutoring the extras...You're even more of a whelp than I thought." She turned, sliding her claymore into its sheath on her back, and walked to the back wall, where she stood, waiting for something.
Seraphim and the other instructors rushed over; "That wen't surprsingly well, considering..." She sighed heavily, then lifted Nya's chin gently with her right hand; "That'll bruise..." She said critically, then shook her head; "Well, You just pissed off Selene and got away lightly, congratulations" She said dryly, then turned to the assembled trainees; "Moving on!" She announced loudly; "Ok everyone, now that we've all been here a while, and you have been going through the bare essentials over the past few weeks since you were ordained, we are going to be taking you out for some first hand experience; just as soon as the orders for groups and destination arrive. In the meantime, continue with your sparring, get some rest, or go to the armoury over by the platform to get equipped with other weapons..." She finished and walked over to where Selene was leaning. The many trainee Claymores did exactly this; One of them, however broke off and approahed Nya; She was about 5ft tall, with a long ponytail of silver hair down to her back. She appeared to be about 16, and bore a triangle, with a dot in the centre on her lapel.
"Hi" She said pleasantly, extending a hand; "I'm Kaela, number 56; How long you been at this then, because that was pretty impressive, the way you just stood there when she hit you, considering you're number"
Meanwhile Seraphim had reached where Selene was; "What the hell was that about?" She asked, somewhat irritated "Training..." Replied Selene dryly, "Now why the hell I am I still here?" "You'll see when he arrives" Seraphim said, grimacing slightly "That bastard better not have..." Selene said irritably

Nya glanced down at Kaela for a moment before walking past to her fallen Claymore. It lay several feet away and sheared in two when she picked it up. She smiled for a moment and strode towards the armoury and forge, passing Kaela "I just started" she said flatly, strands of hair still falling in her wake. She cursed silently and threw the two halves at the blacksmith's feet, moving over to the racks whilst tying her now ragged hair into a loose plait "Fix it" she hissed and proceeded to watch him do so

The blacksmith worked remarkably quickly; the sounds of his hammer and the hiss and crackle of the forges rang out across the courtyard, mingling with the chatter and clashes of the sparring trainees.
Into the courtyard suddenly walked a man, dressed completely in black, witha long trenchcoat and low-brimmed hat; his eyes were covered with dark glasses and his short, black hair was trimmed neatly. He walked over to Selene and Seraphim; inclining his head, he spoke; "Ladies..." He said politely, his voice calm and somewhat vain; They nodded back; "Nepthys...About time" Selene sighed "Lets see the orders then..." He handed her a scroll of paper, and watched with barely disguised glee as her expression changed to one of anger; "Argue with the higher ups, not me..." He said before she could begin, then turned to the assembled in the courtyard; "Greetings to you all! I am Nepthys, one of the administrators of the organistion. I'm sure that many of you will be working with me personally, and you all will be working with ther other administrators along the way; we collect the payments for your services and issue you your orders" He paused looking round. His speech seemed that it was a rehearsed piece, somethinng he had had and would say many times; "I will now read you your teams for your basic training excercise; numbers 57-65 with Instrcuter Seraphim..." He continued down the list until he reached the bottom of the list, where he read out what had been the cause of irritation for Selene; "And finally, numbers 56, 68 and 75, with Selene..." he smiled and walked away, diliberately past her, just to see her anger once more before leaving. "Well you heard him!" Seraphim barked "Gather you weapons, and form into your teams!"

Nya flinched slightly when she heard her number and sighed. Looking over at the racks again she noticed two rather thick Katana like weapons, stacked as if to be used together. "What are they?" she asked lifting them up with ease and admiring their shape. She swung them and the air hissed gently "And what d'you want for them" she asked quietly, stepping back towards the anvil.

"You have a good eye!" Smiled the blacksmith "They are the product of one of my experiments; lighter and faster than a standard sword, but with all the strength of a claymore..." He paused, looking down at the repaired Claymore he had just finished, then he chuckled merrily; "Of course, we're not counting when said Claymore is hit that hard by someone like Selene. As for the what I want for them; they are yours-I live to help your order; after all, your members once saved my life, and the lives of my family" He smiled warmly, and handed Nya back her repaired Claymore, then passed her the sheaths for the dual swords she had just picked up.
Across the courtyard Selene was standing bolt upright, the look of anger still on her face; 'May as well do this professionally, since I have no choice' She thought bitterly to herself; "My team form up!" She spoke clearly, her voice easily heard in the now almost silent courtyard; "Gather your weapons and anything else you wish to carry, as long as it wont sloww us down." She took a few steps forwards, and whispered to Seraphim; "So what do we need to brief them on?" "Just the basic rules of engagement, and anything you think they'll find useful" She answered politely "Great...Just what I need babysitting duties..." Selene sighed and streched to her full height; "Get a move on dammit!" she shouted to the trainees; Kaela and a slightly taller girl, with long wavy silver hair ran over; "Kaela, 56!" "Rachel, 68!" They intoned politely

Nya thanked the blacksmith and slid her claymore into it's sheath on her back and strapped the two blades to either hip, as she casually walked towards Selene and her group. She composed her face into a blank expression she'd been taught to use when facing other people. She quickly tied her hair in a plait to hide the part that had been caught short. She looked directly at Selene with her constantly slitted eyes and let a faint hint of a smile convey between them.

Selene inclined her head slightly as Nya approached; she noted the growing bruise on her cheek as she came closer; 'Maybe I shouldn't have hit her so hard...' she thought to herself. "Well, now that we're all here, we're moving out" She announced to the group. "It'll take us about 10 minutes to reach our destination; It's a town not far from the Citadel, which has constant problems with Yoma; you're going to learn how to fight properly there" She began walking towards the gates; "The request states 20 Yoma-one each for you and the other whelps" She sighed inwardly 'This is a complete waste of time; why the hell do they need me to babysit?' she thought to herself, as the other groups of trainees followed their instructors out; "And now the rules of engagement" She sounded very bored, making it clear she didn't want to do this; "Absolutely no killing of humans, no matter what. But I'm sure you all know that. And here are some rules I'm adding myself; Do not break form the group; if, for some reason you do, and can't find us again, look for one of the other instructors-but don't get lost, you'll just embarass yourselves. The other rule I add is absolute; If I give and order, you do what I say, when I say, and don't question my decisions!" She reached the open gate and lead the group through it; "Any questions?"

Nya tensed momentarily as Selene raised her voice, but it passed quickly as they moved. She followed behind, keeping distance as best as she could without actually appearing separated. If Selene's rank was as high as she thought it might be, then her Yoma sensing would be very accurate. Truth was Nya had had trouble controlling her Yoma power from the start, it was kept quiet because potentially she was an exceptional fighter and she'd learned to control it quite quickly. But every now and then she boiled up without warning, and if left unchecked she'd surely go berserk. Last thing she wanted was for anyone to know she was a loose cannon so to speak. 'Surely some will notice my eyes don't change back' she thought quietly, banishing it just as quickly as it came. She paused to grab a cloak on the way out of the gates, draping it over her with practised ease and pulling it tight over her head to hide her eyes.

Selene continued walking at a brisk pace; "Ah yes" She said suddenly; "I'll need to go over something else thats very important; The powers you are able to utilise due to your hybrid stock. As I am sure you are all aware you have, at least to some extent, the ability to detect the aura of Yoma and other Claymores; Indeed you should be detecting our little group. You will, if your senses have developed further be able to sense the other trainees at their current positions, however as of yet, you will not be able to detect anything beyond a few streets equivalent, so be vigilant when we arrive" She paused for a moment, taking in the surroundings; "As for what you can do in combat with your powers, allow me to explain the limits you will always be working with; Any Claymore can unleash 10% of their Yoma power and have nothing more than their eyes change colour; At 30% your face will change: At 50% your bodies change: Anything more than this makes you more and more of a monster; And if you you exceed 80% then you awaken. For you whelps however, we set the limit at absolute most for you to use for the initial period of your training at 15%, because, in a lot of cases exceeding 30% for you will prove uncontrollable..." She paused again 'And you, number 75 are already working at 10%' She noted to herself; "And let me tell you, and make absolutely clear, if any of you exceed you limits, no matter what the circumstances, and even begin to change..." She turned, looking directly at each of the three in her team in turn, her voice deadly serious, then drew her Claymore for added effect; "I'LL KILL YOU MYSELF!" She slid her weapon back onto her back with a loud 'Clack!': "Clear?" Kaela and Rachel nodded vehemently "Oh look" Selene said, we're almost there, time really flies when your having a chat doesn't it?" She gestured to the large town sprawled across the sweeping plains below

Nya rolled her eyes at the numbers speech, as if the surgeons hadn't been clear enough. She stared off and the town and wished she could tell how many were in there. 'Doesn't matter' she thought quietly 'they'll all die one way or another' She flinched and tensed and the raised voice again, closing her eyes and holding her breath till it passed, noting her ears started changing for a moment and wondering if anyone saw the small points under her hood for that moment. She chuckled quietly and marched passed the other two bobbing heads, stopping a step away from passing Selene and giving a single, hooded nod.

"Excellent" Said Selene simply; "Well onwards we go!" She continued her brisk pace into the town, and easily navigated the winding streets towards the centre where the other 5 instructors and the other 20 trainees were milling around waiting for orders; many humans were looking interestedly at the Claymores; "Well now we're all here, stay in your teams and spread out; use your own senses to find your quarry!" Selene announced loudly to the assemble trainees; "Any last questions?"
