Terry was silent as he followed Edward to his car and throughout the ride. Anyone with half a brain could tell he was uncomfortable. Well, uncomfortable may be a bit of an understatement. Still, it was what it was and it seemed nothing could change that. At least they were heading towards their destination...but with a vampire.
Terry looked to Edward, from the backseat. The man could read minds apparently. There was no doubt that he had heard everything that Terry just thought. There was little doubt in his mind about that. Where did he get such an ability from? He had heard some vampires had such an ability...but he never saw itself. Then again, Terry had never heard of a vampire that didn't eventually turn to ashes in the sunlight either. This is completely stupid.
Edward just smiled to himself. He truly did hear everything the young werewolf thought. He couldn't help but find it amusing...yet he still wish he could figure out who the pair were going to see. Every time their thoughts seemed like they were about to reveal this mystery person, they always strayed from a name. Still, now they were on their way. Soon he'd be able to figure out who this mystery person was.
So focused on Terry's thoughts, Edward almost missed Morrigan's call. As soon as he caught it, though, he did as told. "Where do we go from here?"

The second the car stopped, Morrigan jumped out and looked at the address on the house in front of her. A quick look at the paper from her pocket told her they were close. She took off down the block not paying any heed to the males in the car. Once the house numbers matched, Morrigan took a deep breath and let herself smile. Family. She still had family.
Morrigan would never tell Terry, but she was jealous of him. He had a pack even if he didn't have his mother. As accepted as she was by the pack, secretly she had to wonder if Terry disappeared, would anyone still care about her? It was the same with Cate. She had a sinking feeling that she cared more for the wolf than the witch. But this family was hers.
Perhaps it was that thought that held her at the gate. The thought that her last blood family may not accept her made her blood turn cold. With a hand on the gate to open it, Morrigan sank almost to her knees as she was assaulted by the memories of people's cruel reactions. She could smell the smoke and feel the fire on her calf. Her breath became short and her grip on the gate got tighter as it became her life line.

"Please, don't follow me," Terry said as he watched Morrigan leave. Turning back to Edward, he added, "Just believe me when we say we're not here to hurt anyone. Regardless of what you've heard of my kind, believe me on that."
Werewolf and vampire stared each other in the eyes. It took a bit, but finally the Edward nodded. "Thanks," Terry said as he left the car. He sniffed the air once, trying to get a sense of where Morrigan went. "Come on...there." Finally locking onto the trail, Terry headed in that direction.
The wolf found Morrigan just outside of one particular house. What was wrong with her? "You ok?"

"Just nervous. What if... if they're like the others? What if they don't like me?" Morrigan asked eyes locked on the house. She didn't think she could handle the rejection.

Terry didn't say anything at first. He just watched the witch, frowning as he did so. "Then we move on," he said simply. "Take the pain in, let it make you stronger, and then move on."

Morrigan bit her lip and looked up into Terry's face. He was right. And no matter what happened, she still had Terry. Nothing would change that. She took a deep breath, pressed on through the gate and up to the front door. Her hand frozen over the doorbell.
Closing her eyes, Morrigan saw flashes of her childhood. The happy parts. That meant playing in the old Victorian manor with her aunt and mother and Camp outs on the holy days far from prying eyes. She owed it to her mother and aunt to contact their sister and niece Morrigan had never known about. Without another thought, she pushed the button and a cheerful chime filled the air.
An older man came to the door. He wore glasses and his light brown hair seemed to get lighter towards the roots. He gave her a friendly smile.
"Can I help you? Are you some of Angie's college friends?" He asked.
"Good evening, Mr. Weber. This is Terry and I'm Morrigan Ravenhearst." The man's eyebrow rose a bit and his eyes narrowed as she spoke her name. "Could we come in, please?"
"I think you had better." he said holding the door open for them.
"Thank you." She said as she passed him into the very ordinary living room. Normalcy was comforting after such strange vamps and wolves.

Terry followed Morrigan in, looking around as he did. It wasn't quite what he expected from a witch family. It didn't seem too different from an ordinary human's home, to be honest. The teen at least expected a crystal ball; something a bit out of the ordinary. Still, be that as it may, it was a pretty nice looking house.
Terry's attention quickly turned towards the loud, and annoying, sound of barking. Something small shot from the couch and bounded straight for him. Once it finally stopped, a few feet from where Terry himself stood, the teen could finally see that it was a Pomeranian. There wasn't much of a doubt in his mind that the creature could sense something was different about him; something more than just being a stranger. Still...Really?
